Well, perhaps it's for the same reason that whole scientific theories aren't thrown out because various portions are found erroneous. Christianity, like science, adapts as new things are learned. I've always felt that this was the true beauty and beautiful truth of Christianity -- it's not stagnant. It's a growing and changing religion that holds onto universal truths but changes with mankind who is always changing. It stays true and fresh and vibrant. Even those who fight against the changes in Christianity aren't worshiping or believing exactly the same as the first Christians. It's simply in the nature of some to be more conservative in those changes. In Christianity, there is room for everyone somewhere because there is so much variety.

You have proved something written in the Bible is a lie? How did you do that yo?...

For a believer, faith trumps everything else, including what you see, hear, smell, taste, or touch. If the bible said, pi = 3 (integer), then that's God's final answer. When 1000 mathematicians say, "But pi = 3.14159....", then the believer will do some fancy footwork: "What God REALLY MEANS here is...." :) Or they will say, "Back in the day when that particular book of the bible was written, the people wouldn't have understood [xyz], and so this is how God had to explain it to them AT THAT TIME." Every time a believer finds something in the bible that doesn't make sense, they get creative and explain "what God really meant." :) When you're a believer, you NEVER allow reason or reality to get in your way. â— He who arrives at a conclusion by faith cannot be moved by reason

I am christian and I now that not all is true... But that will not bother me... At the end (I may be wrong thinking that way) I think that religion in general is just to proven pease, love and order.... I don't know... I'm sorry. Oh, answering your question I would say that they "Christians" will do what they can to protect their beelives... Wouldn't you?

It's just how they are. If somehow, someway, god was proven to be imaginary, christians would still believe that it was god's intention to have us believe that he was imaginary so it would further segregate the non-believers and believers---or something like that. Whatever the case may be, it doesn't matter what you say or do to persuade a christian away from their god, god will always be apart of their lives----no matter what----and will always influence everything whether it's incongruent/contradictive to logic/reality or not.

The beauty of the Bible is that it says anything the reader wants it to say
-
The same reason when something has been proving to be true people who don't believe discredit it as being a far fetch stretched when it came to pass as it was written. In reality both groups should quit talking to each other because they never can meet on common ground.

The bible is open to interpretation. God's word means whatever one wants it to at whatever time.

would you please provide an example?

They do that for the very same reasons religion is a belief system and not a verifiable truth (facts, science, and logic). For example, if you are truly convinced that there are little green monsters under your bed, and you have been taught that your entire life (from your parents, and from the speaker with the dignified voice in the Hall of Worship that you visit every Sunday), then it doesn't really matter what the facts are. You are still going to believe your parents and your mentors more than strangers and facts. And so you will convince your own children about the existence of little green monsters under the bed, simply by being yourself and live as if there were little green monsters undeer the bed. If someone reminds you that there are no traces of these little green monsters, then you - who for a life-time has been trained to disregard logical reasoning when it comes to these little green monsters - will respond in the way you have been taught, namely that these little green monsters will only reveal themselves to the people who believe in them, that they are omnipotent and therefore can make themselves invisible, that it is the evil anti-monster who lives underground who has affected YOUR mind so that you fail to see that the litte green monsters are in fact under the bed, or that the "proof" of the existence of these little green monsters is that the Great Holy Monster Book says so... In fact, you may be so blinded by your own belief in little green monsters that you seriously believe that you can scare non-believers by saying that if they don't acknowledge the existence of these little green monsters, then something tragic will happen to them... Because of many people's general sensitivity and insecurity about life, this may actually work sometimes, but for the majority of non-monster-believers, such a point of view would be utterly ridiculous. Anyone with a sane and stable mind would realize that one cannot have a rational discussion about the existence of little green monsters with such a green monster believer that I have just described. On the status scale of various kinds of base-less and non-rational ideas in this world, religious belief systems are at the top, and therefore, one can always find support for religious belief systems, which permeates most of the world. Only time and education of emotionally and mentally stable, loved individuals with intelligence and self-confidence whereby these individuals are trained in logical and critical thinking will eventually make the world realize that there are nmo little green monsters under people's beds. I don't have to tell anyone, that my story about little green monsters will be hated by countless green monster believers. Denial and sticking to the familiar and comfortable is often more powerful than rational thinking, and what may be the most objective, reasonable, and scientifically probable truth. Religion is very much part of American culture, as opposed to much of Europe, where in many countries, the majority no longer believe in God any more than they believe in little green monsters under the bed. Culture has a tendency to go from generation to generation, and even some very bright people fail to see the world soberly, because culture, tradition, and emotions are together very strong.

First of all, 'christians' is a pretty broad group,... Different PEOPLE are going to respond differently if they are presented with evidence that something they believed to be true is not. Isn't it possible that their understanding of a scripture is faulty? and if so, it's their thinking that needs to be adjusted. Example: The Bible contains the expression 'the four corners of the earth'. (The entire earth, the expression probably alludes to four different directions, North, South, East and West) Hundreds of years ago religious leaders interpreted this to mean that the earth was flat and square. They ended up looking like idiots. But it was their understanding that was flawed. (What's particularly ridiculous, is that they ignored other Bible texts in forming this conclusion. For example Isaiah 40:22 "There is One who is dwelling above the circle of the earth,...") The Bible verse involved was not a lie, the problem was the pigheaded way the religious leaders insisted on interpreting it. What particular lies did you have in mind?

First you have to 100% prove that something in the Bible is a lie. I have yet to see that happen. When you are actually able do this, let me know then we can sit down and discuss it. And no, I'm not trying to be condescending here, it's just that claims such as yours have been made for over 2000 years and so far, the skeptics have passed on and the Bible still stands.
