  • Dont know exactly what it "means" but I have dreams like this at least 3 times a week. The bad guy never gets me but Im running just as fast as I can and it all seems like slow motion. Im afraid hes gonna catch me one night. Kinda creepy.
  • Could mean you are wanting to change an aspect of your life and are procrastinating?
  • How do you feel about your past? Are you attempting a change in your life? Could you maybe feel that no matter what you do your past is right behind you and you arent making any progress?
  • Running on Ice... hey wasn't that a Billy Joel song. I never hear it on the radio, it's good too. There's a lot of tension in this town I know it's building up inside of me I've got all the symptoms and the side effects Of city life anxiety I could never understand why the urban attitude Is so superior In a world of high rise ambition Most people's motives are ulterior Sometimes I feel as though I'm running on ice Paying the price too long Kind of get the feeling that I'm running on ice Where did my life go wrong I'm a cosmopolitan sophisticate Of culture and intelligence The culmination of technology And civilized experience But I'm carrying the weight of all the useless junk A modern man accumulates I'm a statistic in a system That a civil servant dominates And all that means is that I'm running on ice Caught in a vise so strong I'm slipping and sliding, cause I'm running on ice Where did my life go wrong You've got to run You've got to run As fast as I can climb A new disaster every time I turn around As soon as I get one fire put out There's another building burning down They say this highway's going my way But I don't know where it's taking me It's a bad waste, a sad case, a rat race It's breaking me I get no traction cause I'm running on ice It's taking me twice as long I get a bad reaction cause I'm running on ice Where did my life go wrong You've got to run You've got to run Running on ice Running on ice Running on ice
  • I always have dreams where I'm trying to run away from something and I'm not getting anywhere. It's a common dream, although I've no idea what it means. But I suppose it could be interpreted in lots of different ways. I often feel in real life that I'm running round and round and getting nowhere fast.
  • the dream intails that you as a person is insecure not because of what is happening to you now but what has happened in the past, the past is catching up to you it seems and in doing so is bringing out ur insecureties. try and think of some troubling times in the past and then by process of elimination find which one is coming back to haunt you, there lays the bad guy. or simply the bad guy dream is just a re-occuring dream that will soon pass, either option really.
  • Chase dreams often stem from feelings of anxiety in your waking life. Chase dreams also may represent your way of coping with fears, stress or various situations in waking life. Ask yourself who is chasing you and you may gain some understanding and insight on the source of your fears and pressure.
  • Running from something in a dream is like trying to out run your shadow on a sunny day. You are being chased by a part of yourself that you may be afraid to look at. The sensation of running on ice or not being able to get away means its something about yourself you must eventually face. Next time you have this dream, be brave. don't run. then, turn and face what is chasing you. Listen to what it has to say.
  • I believe it indicates that you are getting nowhere, fast, no matter how hard you try. Running away is not helping, and the bad guy is the other person in your head that is trying to hold you back. If this is a recurring dream, I suggest you make some strong choices to move ahead in life and dont let anyone stop you.
  • I have similar dreams when im being chased by something scary but i slow down and my legs feel like 1 ton no matter how hard i try i cant move. Personally i think is because of running away from a problem and being brave.running away from a problem will only make i worse this is just a guess though.
  • There are two things going on here. The first is that you are trying to run. As primitive humans, most of our life is based on various sorts of low-grade fear. It is only natural for us to try to avoid it and in our dream state we allow ourselves that luxury. As for the running on ice part, that's where it gets interesting. Kids in school are taught that the are only five sensory perceptions (sight, small, sounds, taste, touch) but there are really many more than that (e.g. inner-ear balance, CO2, etc...) One of the most important senses is proprioception, our brains ability to determine body position by sensing how hard our muscles are working. Normally when you run your brain gets all sorts of feedback from your leg muscles telling it that your legs are, in fact, moving as quickly as you want them to. In the dream state, however, you do not have that proprioceptive feedback and in attempting to reconcile this with your inner eye's belief that you are running, your brain comes up with the result that everything seems very slugish. The lack of feedback also contradicts your inner eye's belief that you are moving forward through space. That's why it seems like you are getting nowhere.
  • god its so annoying...i had this once.. i was running and i didnt get anywhere and i was just way to slow... also once...when i screamed but nothing came out...silence
  • It's a common dream, running and making no progress. When you dream you can't usually move any more than a little twitch or you'd injure yourself. The running through treacle dream is likely caused by this paralysis. So relax. It doesn't mean anything more than you're safe and won't hurt yourself by reacting to your dream.
