I like upbeat classical even though I don't normally listen to that type of music, simply because you don't have to worry about running into lyrics that talk about the reason why you're depressed in the first place.

It has to be classical music, or any emotionally mitigating song (whether modern or classical) that could have the power to drive my psycho-emotional turmoils away. This way, a kind of relieving experience known as "tragic catharsis" in the study of Literature, would occur within me, and I will then be healed and all those negative emotions will be purged out of myself.....

Many many more but I won't burden you with them.

Not so much one particular song, but uplifting house music can be very good for your mood and bring you into a state of optimism and a natural high. I have thousands that I like, but one of my favs is: Three Drives on A Vinyl - Greece 2000. p.s. I don't listen to this music only when I'm a little down. Its music for any time you like (only respect the neighbours when appropriate).

if i am depressed i play happy music which can be anything with a fast beat, listening to unhappy songs only wastes my time on the planet when i could be listening to something happier!, but my favourite depressing song is Reo Speedwagon "i cant fight this feeling any longer"
