I've used Yahoo Answers for the 1st time today, and think the people on AB are more intelligent then people on Yahoo answers anyone else agree?

I've never visited Yahoo Answers. I've heard many ABers say this and also that the people on AB are nicer.
I'm wondering if I should check Yahoo out for a first-hand experience. But I enjoy my time here too much :-)

I also came from Yahoo Answers, and I must say that even though there are more people over there, there are more quality questions and answers here.

Trust me, you don't want to stay on YA. go to search at the top and key in YA and read some of the post. Most of us spent years and had hundreds of thousands of points and due to trolls had our accounts deleted for no reason.. I think you will be sorely disappointed. YA is a place for nothing but trolls and children. They have no fairness and if someone doesn't like you or your answers..your account is gone. AB is much better. We have hard working CL and staff that work themselves to death to see this site stays family friendly and fair

I, like many others, are "Yahell" refugees. That place is a cesspool with no customer service. It's overrun with juvenile trolls that like to innocent folks profiles suspended for no good reason. And Y/A almost never does a thing to stop it. Plus, your questions "close" after a short time, which means there are hundreds of dupes of the most ridiculous questions. You can't upload pictures or videos.
Sure, on every site there are always the few bad apples that try to spoil the whole bunch. But, for the most part, there are a better class of people here on AB.

A majority of ABer's came from YA, encase you didn't know.

yahoo answers is a site controlled by trolls and 12 year olds...I will never go there again....

I do agree. I had a very similar experience at Ya-who.

I am a Yahoo survivor myself. I would frequent there until one day I stumbled upon AB. AB is so much better in so many ways. Like other people have said about the banning and deleting that came from the little YA trolls over there, I got it too. One of their rules is no chatting. I got the "letter" from them saying that I was chatting and that was against their rules. Yeah, I tried to respond back to it but all they do is send their automated response back to you. I will never go back to YA again, ever! Unless its to tell them to go screw themselves. Ha! Maybe we should set up a time and date and get a mass of AB'ers to post on YA all at once and let them know what we think of 'em!

Im a former Y!A user. there its just a bunch of stupid teens and trolls ruining it for others,plus the mods are quick to ban you.I love this site.

Y!A is full of stupid and sensitive people. They report anything. You can't ever post what you need to know because it will get deleted by the stupid staff.

i agree i use yahoo answers from time to time the answers there are very different..i dont advice anyone from AB to check it out personally i just been hooked up here with AB and im starting to see the difference.

All the top people were banned from Yahoo Answers and ended up here.

I hate y!A.I used to post there all the time.It was a joke.I got emailed death threats and I was kicked off many times for stupid reasons!

I would go to Yahoo answers from time to time. Here at Answerbag the people are so nice andreally give great answers and there aren't as many trolls here.

Yes, I most certainly agree and I made it known in Yahoo Answers that AB was much better.

I was on YA for less than a week when I was pertinently banned for "posting content in violation with blah blah blah"... I was not given a specific reason for being banned at all. I even tried appealing it, and got a cookie cutter response from a machine.

I think that may be true on the average, but we have some hateful morons on both websites.

No I don't really agree on the intelligence level.. though I have to admit that there are a lot of stupid questions on YA, and many horrible opinions. But they are also to be found here :)

Anyway, I like AB much more, it's far more social.

I don't agree really about people being more intelligent. Neither YA nor AB conducts IQ tests before signing people up. Like some have said, they came over from YA. They are not more intelligent now that they are on AB. AB is better at what it offers because it is focussed on Q&A. YA is an appendage to some other activities of Yahoo's. Some bright people are still over at YA. So AB has better quality Q&A, yes, higher intelligence people, no. We shoud also note that we read subpar questions here at AB

I've never asked any questions on Yahoo, but i have read some of their answers...Yes, AB is way better and the people here are more considerate =)

I've been on Yahoo Answers and I'm not sure if I agree 100% or not about the intelligence factor, I think that both AB and YA users are intelligent but I think the people here are certainly more fun to "be around" than the people on Yahoo Answers. The biggest problems with Yahoo Answers is how strict it is and the fact that there's really no encouragement for giving a good answer. As long as you answer a question, no matter how dumb the answer is, you get points for it. On here you have to earn your points. You either have to give a good, intelligent and/or humorous answer.

In short, Yahoo Answers is boring and so are most of the users (maybe because they have to be, because it's so strict) but AB rocks. Not as much as the old AB, but nothing's perfect.

No. The sheer number of yahoo answers users is massive. Therefore, just logistically, they have more intelligent users.
