In most states, you are automatically emancipated by virtue of having a child. It's worth a call to the Clerk of the Court to find out. You cannot be emancipated and apply for HUD or food stamps. In order to be emancipated you need to prove that you have a job that will cover expenses, need no financial assistance from anyone and can afford and live in your own dwelling. But to answer your question, yes, there are lawyers who work for little to no fee. Look up legal aid in your city. Good luck.

they may be able to do the emancipation but they have nothing to do with HUD and food stamps. THose have to be applied for directly by you. Most legal aid places do not do that type of thing anyway.. so you are probably out of luck there. Courts usually consider you an adult once you have a child.. I would contact the courts and ask them what to do.

Put it out of your mind. Stay at home until YOU have a chance to grow up. Most importantly, finish high school and prepare for a life in the "real world" once you are sufficiently mature to cope with its consequences. You made one mistake already, don't continue to make more.
