Many people feel Kabukicho in Shinjuku is the most dangerous part of Tokyo. There are a lot of sex clubs there (straight and gay) and also shady drinking establishments run by the Japanese yakuza or Chinese mafia. I've heard horror stories about unsuspecting "country boys" going in for one drink and being charged the equivalent of $500.
