Indeed, maybe you shouldn't take everything that people say about/to you at heart? Maybe you wouldn't get as easily offended by words like that? Just consider the source, and unless you were doing something to merit being called a racist, there is no reason to get offended or upset about it.

True, and thank you from bringing this up. Too often when someone calls another a racist, regardless of how baseless the accusation, no one will defend the "racist" and the discussion ends there. It really is often a shameless tactic to win an argument.

Glad you said this, it is so true, especially when the accusation is baseless. I have been accused of being a racist when trying to describe how a particular mixed race person looks (e.g. her features are mostly caucasian, but she has darker skin) and my feelings were hurt by the accusation.
