Can deaf people have tinnitus; and if they did, how would they know?

    I am not deaf, but i wear two hearing aids. i have tinnitus, but the hearing aids have a built-in "white noise", that helps tremendously with the ringing in my ears.

    My mother is deaf and yes, she has tinnitus. she states it plays havoc on her nerves. maybe the tinnitus, does not effect people who are deaf, from hearing the constant ringing in their ears. i cannot answer that particular portion of your question. sorry.
