When the Eagles make the playoffs do they get paid overtime since their season is usually over by now? lol

That is a very odd question when you consider that 2006 is the 6th time in the 7 seasons since 2000 that the Eagles HAVE been in the play-offs, including 4 consecutive NFL championship games from 2001-2004 and a Superbowl appearance. 2005 is the only time in recent history that their season has been "over by now".

But as far as the real point of the question is concerned, the NFL players are not played on a per-game basis, they are contracted over the course of the whole year, not just the season, so the money is spread out over the whole year too and they receive a weekly paycheck just like regular folk even during off-season. However their contracts will have bonus clauses and incentives written into them so that they do receive extra money for reaching the play-offs, reaching the Superbowl etc... however it is not really "overtime" they are being paid for, it is more in the way of a performance bonus that will be paid at the end of the season.

players are paid a bonus for the playoffs each round is more and the winners of the games get a bigger bonus than the losers, in the 07 super bowl the colts bonus was 73,000.00 and the bears bonus was 38,000.00 for that game. It's not negotiated by the individual or figured into their contracts, it's negotiated by the union and the league and every player on a team gets the same bonus.
