How Important is Relationship History? When you start approaching relationship status with someone, how important is it to know the other person's relationship history? How much of their history is important to know? Why?

    It's neither irrelevant nor all-important: people are likely to repeat the past in their relationships, but this isn't always the case -- we do change over time, and we're each different with different partners.

    But certainly if there's a recognizable pattern (i.e. he always falls for insecure girls and then dumps them when he gets bored) that's worth being aware of and addressing consciously.
