Help answer this question below.

Could you rank these five topics from 1st to 5th, with 1st being the most controversial? Abortion, Child spanking, Gay rights, Politics, Religion.

    But seriously... 2 3 and 4 are all greatly connected to 1 so religion is really the source of all the other problems and debates. It's really just cuz of a so-called "saint" book that we don't have rights as gays, because before that we did. And then many people are against abortion for religious beliefs (although not all, some are really pro-life...)... And politics... wars for ideology, religion, many laws are inspired by the local religions etc... So therefore NUMBER ONE really is religion.

    Then, number two, politics, same goes to this one as the previous point. It's that number 3, 4 and 5 are directly influenced by number 2. Gay rights are determined by a country's politics, as well as the legalization of abortion and legislation of physical abuse on children. So since it all depends on politics whether a country accepts all of those or not, NUMBER TWO goes to politics.

    Then, number three, gay rights. From now on I classified them with how recent and animated the debates are over them. Gay rights is still something under discussion and greatly argued by many people, especially americans. Very recent controversy (90s till today.)

    Then abortion is really a matter of life or death to some. But then the debate is on for a very very long time now. People are less animated on the subject even though some disagree. (70s till today)

    And the last, child spanking, causing IMO the less controversy because laws are established on the subject wherever they need to be, and it's mostly a settled argument. Studies have been done on the horrible impact on a child that is caused by hitting him, scientific conclusions and studies have been made, those with opposing opinions are just "bleh" to me, they just didn't inform themselves enough maybe, but it's a debate that could be easily settled.
