I'm not sure about getting points for asking questions. This is because somebody could only ever ask questions, and they could in theory become an expert / professor or other level without answering a single question.

I agree. I think the questions should be ratable, but tracked separately from answers. There could be separate levels of inquisitiveness. Knowing whether a person searches for knowledge gives a little more weight to the knowledge being dispensed.

Good questions are hard to come by. I am tired of all these people who sign on and dump a dozen pointless question, just fishing for points. I am also a bit tired of all the b/f, g/f "Dear Abby" type questions. I wouldn't take personal advice from a stranger, candy either.

candy yes, relationship advice, no. :)

I kind of like the pointless "survey" type questions, it's just fun to take a break in the brain work to answer something perhaps silly and fun.

Zan: I agree, I like them too. My gripe is seeing one persons avatar filling the question page with nothing but "Vanilla or Chocolate", "Jam or Jelly" type questions.

true. I get that.
