  • Exactly. +5 I guess some people like to justify their bigotry and hatreds, and use God as an excuse. They will have a lot to answer for. I also thought that Jesus said to love one another, not "love one another, except the LGBT folks, and oh yes the [insert race here], and the [insert religion here], and the [etc.]."
  • I agree with you. Not applying this to this particular situation, but they've lost sight of "God hates the sin, not the sinner." Besides, everyone's a sinner in some way or another, so, whether homosexuality is a sin or not, shouldn't they be working on their own lives first?
  • i agree this is actually one of the many contradictions in the bible because it condems homosexuals but also claims that god loves everyone.
  • the word God is just a symbol of overwhelming authority. they cant say they hate fags, then they will get cited for being homophobic.
  • GOD LOVES EVERYBODY VERY VERY MUCH AS WE CAN NOT UNDERSTAND... BEALIVE THAT... JUST TRY TO DO BEST FOR YOU AND FOR EVEYONE :)) DON' T THÄ°NK ABOUT PROTESTERS. cuz they find to protest something !!! :)
  • I agree with you. as a christian myself, I am offended when I see things like that. The Bible says that we are not to judge, that is up to God. so I consider it a sin to judge people (although I am guilty of judging people, I try not to, and do not judge that harshly). also in the Bible, sex outside of marrige is considered a sin, and that is mentioned many times, and at no time has same sex been called a bigger sin than hetrosexual sex. and it has been my observation that there is lots more male-female casual sex than man-man, so if the protestors really were thinking about what is right, they should be trying to stop sex in the straight community first. just my 2 cents.
  • It doesn't surprise me that God is a Non-smoker.
  • This is probably the Westboro Baptist Church, a tiny little haven of nutjobs and inbreeding run by Fred Phelps of Topeka, KS. Interestingly, they have a pretty professional web site (http://www.godhatesfags.com/). They've received a lot of news coverage for their radical stance about homosexuality, and their incredible bad taste in protest stylings. Ironically, I think these cretins have done more for gay rights than a whole raft of tolerance parades -- because very few traditionally anti-homosexual groups want to be associated with such extremist views, and have moved more toward the center as a result. Nothing helps a cause more than crazy opposition.
  • God does love everyone and doesn't hate anyone, he hates the sin not the sinner. As someone else has already stated everyone is a sinner. Yes you are right they are using their religion if they are putting that on a sign. It is not right in my beliefs for the same sex to be together, however I would never judge someone for it.
  • First of all "God" has not said anything and even he did,we wouldn't know. If you are quoting the bible, it says both but not in that way and I don't think "God" would use the word fag! so it is easy to recognize a person's hatred in a sign that says god hates fags. They do use religion to promote their hatred and so does the church to control the masses.
  • I agree. And yes... That's what they're doing, alright!
  • "God" hates HATE.
  • Okay, what the news doesn't tell you is that those protesters aren't members of a church, they are members of a family. http://www.godhatesfags.com/ They call themselves Westboro Baptist Church, but the are in no way affiliated with, members of or trained by the Baptist Church. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Westboro_Baptist_Church Basically this is a really sick family that hates everyone who isn't related to them. They have protested at the funerals of American Soldiers. They have protested at the Holocaust Museum because they hate Jews. I don't see how they came up with that. Apparently they aren't aware that Jesus was a Jew. Please don't equate this people with God fearing Christians. Christ didn't hate. He did call people on their behavior, but he didn't hate.
  • yes it should in england fags means cigarette so to see signs like that is even more stupid
  • Yeah, but the former has such a RING to it!
  • God does NOT hate fags. It is illogical. God is not illogical: extremists are illogical. IF there is a God and IF God is omnipotent and IF God is omniscient and IF God is not stupid then God made "fags." If God hated gays yet continued to reissue a hated model, then God would be stupidly ignorant (which, by definition he cannot be, or he wouldn't be God). Perhaps God hates HATERS. Perhaps gays sit at the right hand of God and their role is to cause haters to come out into the light of day and write evil posters. Perhaps then God targets the haters and sends down a thunderbolt with swift justice. Perhaps. If I were a hater, I'd be scared.
  • Idiots create god in their image. It has always been that way. How else can they justify their hate and stupidity then creating an imaginary god just as hateful and stupid?
  • Well...it shouldn't even say they hate them because The Bible supposedly teaches that you shouldn't hate nor be judgemental. I really don't know what their problem is. I don't know if they are just hateful and confused or both hateful and confused and fucking cuckoo.
  • i'm afraid most folks use religion to justify all kinds of mean nasty things. there's a saying that anybody / anything can make a bad person do bad things, but, it takes religion to make a good person do bad things. (also, most religions can also help turn bad people into good people.) it must break god's heart to see the hateful things that humankind does in the name of god. i wonder if god is ever ashamed of the hateful things done in his name?
  • How about "I'm not loving myself very much and I'm mad at something in my life - I just need a group to focus my anger, fear and sadness on."?
  • Look, WBC doesn't want converts or anything. If they wanted to make a difference in people's opinions toward them, they'd protest NAMBLA or something. They *want* you to hate them, and to get worked up in advance when they come, so that there will be a counter protest and sooner or later someone will throw punches-- and get sued. The entire family is lawyers. Just ignore them.
  • People who take the help of religion or other peoples opinions to project their opinions...are the real fags....If I don't like fags, I would say that on the face of the person..instead of making it an event on the television...
  • I wanna buy these aussies a case of beeyah! . . .
  • Someone once said: "You know you have invented your God when He hates the same people you do."
  • You know their god is man made when he hates all the same people the fan club does
  • When I grew up a fag was a short ciagareete that was passed around because everyone was so poor we could afoord but one. mR Bill
  • Yes! It should say "God Loves ALL People, but Can't Live with Any Persons' Sin"!!! John
  • totally. idiocy & bigotry at its finest. and blasphemy too ~ "god" is love, not hate. its nothing new though...more wars have been waged in the name of religion than anything else in this world.
  • Well, god made Adam and Eva, not Adam and Adam, and not Eva and Eva.. He made Adam and Eva! Get it?
  • because they are ignorant idiots.
  • Westboro Baptist Church are complete psychopaths.
  • I think that their signs should read; "I am a frightened angry control freak that can't deal with any other perspective but my own. And I do it in Jesus name, because Im such a control freak that my assumptions extend to anyone that can't otherwise speak for themselves, to defend themselves or to correct me." It is a shame what people do to God in their attempts at using Him for their own personal hang-ups and soap box ideals!
  • Yes you are right because God loves everyone he hates sin and accourding to the bible (Old Testement) homosexuality is a sin.
  • You know god is made up when you see that he hates all the same people that his followers do
  • Yes, and religion is sometimes a good excuse for what these people obviously already feel. For some reason, certain people are intimidated by someone else's sexuality.
  • There is no central clearinghouse that issues certificates after testing to determine if one is actually a Christian or not. There IS however a litmus test: "By this shall you know them ... that they love one another." I don't see ANY love displayed by the Westboro Baptist Church, much less GOD's love.
  • The people in this church are completely mental. But- so is the God of the Old Testament. Most people now cherry-pick the bible in favor of the more socially acceptable messages. But in truth, God does hate gays, and shrimp, and the foolish, and figs, and false witnesses, and Esau, and nations other than Israel, and workers of iniquity, and wicked people... Anyone who believes in the infallibility of this text should have their mental capacity questioned.
  • You're probably speaking of the Westboro Baptist Church. It's radical fringe groups like this that give Christianity as a whole, a bad name. They say and do things in God's name that cause untold mental and spiritual harm to many people. I can judge them by their fruit and their fruit is rotten but Yahweh God will have the final say so as to what will happen to these people. I will say this, they will reap what they sow.
  • You are absolutely right! And I like the alternate phrase you supply. Folks who presume to know the mind of God should be forced to have a sticker bearing this phrase or something similar affixed to the bumpers of their vehicles with crazy glue. Very crazy glue.
  • I would say that is a much more correct sign.
  • Personally as a Christian those signs make me sick. IF they were to follow their religion which I don't believe they are, but instead of following the hatred in their heart. They would know to love the sinner (WHICH WE ALL ARE SINNERS...straight, bi or gay) not the sin (which last time I checked..... only one who walked on Earth was free of sin......)
  • Yes, of course. You're right. Christians are so forgiving. For other christians. I hate them. They represent the worst in people.
  • Pretty much. God loves all people unconditionally. This means there are no conditions needed to be met to merit His love. God loves the worst sinner just as much as He loves the best saint. Being Love, God can do nothing else. This does not mean that He approves of all of our actions. There is a fundamental difference between love and approval. Some people call this "love the sinner, hate the sin." Anyone who states, "God hates these people or those people" does not understand basic Christianity. Here are a couple of quotes about God as Love from C. S. Lewis that I really like: "He [God] has paid us the intolerable compliment of loving us, in the deepest, most tragic, most inexorable sense. .... Love, in its own nature, demands the perfecting of the beloved; ... mere "kindness" which tolerates anything except suffering in its object is, in that respect, at the opposite pole from Love." "You ask for a loving God; you have one ... not a senile benevolence that drowsily wishes you to be happy in your own way, not the cold philanthropy of a conscientious magistrate, not the care of a host who feels responsible for the comfort of his guests, but the CONSUMING FIRE HIMSELF, the Love that made the worlds, persistent as the artist's love for a child, jealous, inexorable, exacting as love between the sexes..." "The only place outside Heaven where you can be perfectly safe from all the dangers and perturbations of love is Hell." See also the fourth chapter of the first letter of John. With love in Christ.
  • When God says to love one another, He means hat one should act civilly towards each other as he commands as he abhors war and discontent; however, He also expects people to obey the law, most especially His laws. When He says that a man shall not lie down with another man as he would with a woman, He means specifically that. There are a many, many laws that we as humans have broken, virtually all of them. God is not very happy with this at at all. Singling out homosexuals will not justify ones ability to sin in another way because God also has a thing against proselytizing. We are expected to buy the Word of God, bot sell it. So Door-to-Door missionaries have broken that rule.
  • That's because it's from the WESTBORO church. Those guys are group set in place to bring as much bad publicity to Christians as they possibly can. Their goal is to set public opinion against Christians and rid us off as a hate-group. For the most part Westboro church might be run by Kabbalists, Freemasons, or another branch of the NWO in America. If the Westboro church get as many people to hate Christians then they have completed their mission. Eventually they plan to split religion in America up with militant atheists on one side and Christians on the other. Then once they establish the one world religion, they'll get rid of both. Albert Pike wrote this plan up 100 years ago.
  • i think you are absolutely correct. nothing more needs to be said.
  • (1 Corinthians 6:9) What! Do YOU not know that unrighteous persons will not inherit God’s kingdom? Do not be misled. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men kept for unnatural purposes, nor men who lie with men, (1 Timothy 1:10) fornicators, men who lie with males, kidnappers, liars, false swearers, and whatever other thing is in opposition to the healthful teaching MEN WHO LIE WITH MEN... God's word is against it...and God had the Bible written...
  • I am a Christian. I do not hate any people. Those that do those things have been taught by man, not God. God does love everybody. But he does hate sin. It does not matter if that sin is sexual or that sin is a lie. I was at one time part of the gay lifestyle. I know the differance between pure holy marrage to a woman, and lusting for sex. I know that that lust is a destroyer of the soul. God loves you so much! But he is Holy! He gave his only son to take your place in death, so you can live with him forever!Because the wages of sin is death. But eternal life is in Jesus Christ his son! If we live for the flesh, we will die in the flesh. But if we live in the Spirit through Jesus, we will live eternaly with God. The Bible declares; All have sinned! But as many as recieve his son shall live. If they truely believe and that means turn away from your sinful life and trust in God.
