  • Could be your period is a day or two late. Give it a week then do the test. The pregnancy hormone is actually produced at conception by the baby. It's done to send a signal to the mother's body to not ovulate for at least nine more months. This is what the "pregnancy tests" look for. The newer tests on the market are just able to detect more minute amounts. If you haven't started within a week at least you wouldn't have wasted your money. (oops)
