i cant pick a favorite there are so many good ones... 1. camille claudel starring isabelle adjani and gerard depardieu as rodin was heartbreaking. 2. amadeus was fantastic ~ tom hulce was fabulous as mozart. 3. shine starring geoffrey rush about pianist david helfgott was a powerful movie. 4. il postino was sweet ~ it was based around a postmans relationship with poet pablo neruda. 5 & 6. val kilmer and jamie foxx did phenomenal jobs channeling jim morrison and ray charles in the doors and ray, respectively. 7. selma hayek gave her best performance ever as frida kahlo in frida. 8. anthony hopkins did a good job in surviving picasso. 9. i loved almost famous ~ very entertaining movie. 10. sid & nancy about sid vicious and the sex pistols was gritty...gary oldman did a superb job. 11. diana ross gave a tour-de-force performance of billie holiday in lady sings the blues 12. i thought sissy spacek was very sweet as loretta lynn in coal miners daughter 13. joaquin phoenixs best role was in walk the line as johnny cash 14. forest whittaker was amazing as charlie parker in bird 15. philip seymour hoffman gave a great performance in capote 16. the moderns was entertaining. 17. henry and june had its moments with anais nin, who i am a fan of.
