An Orthodox Christian of Indian descent, Akash was born in England and immigrated with his family to America when he was a year old. He lived in Jacksonville the last 16 years. Akash was an Eagle Scout, an aero-space engineer from Embry-Riddle University and most recently was a student at the Florida Coastal School of Law. He was a founder of Sigma Beta Rho, a fraternity of Asian students at the University of Florida. These activities exemplified his passion for leadership. He very much wanted to serve in Iraq and aspired to join the U.S. Marine Corps. We will miss his warm smile, out going and affectionate, loving nature. He is survived by his father, Dr. Anand Kuruvilla; mother, Sheila; and sister, Shai. He will be missed by a large circle of family and friends.
