No, I'm so guilty of that myself. Though I'm more apt to say darlin' or sweetie.:) For some reason though I don't like it when someone says 'dear' to me. It always sounds condescending.
-
why would you get annoyed could be getting called worse names then that..okay, but your so cute bugs me
-
Heelllno yo...
-
No. I feel all warm and fuzzy inside. But then, I'm 53 years old and I can use all the love and affection I can get. <smile> It is usually just waitresses who are feeling motherly.
-
I dislike being called "dear" "sweety" or "love" by those that don't know me. And don't call me "Buddy", that really gets my goat. For some reason, a lot of salesmen try that one on me. I usually end up leaving. Hmm.
-
Unless its coming from person I'm dating, it's best not to call me that. I have a name for a reason.
-
Depends on who says it and how.
-
Yes, reminds me of my ex. It makes me want to stab them in the kidney, then I get further angered by realizing I'm not 100% on where the kidney is.
-
I don't mind hun from a grandma, but the rest of it forget it!
-
cant say never
-
nah not really
-
Yeah, in a store, I hate it. "Here ya go hon" pisses me off. The older I get, it gets worse. I'm waiting for the day some sale clerk calls me "dear"! Ill blow my top, I just know I will!
-
Oh gawd!! I can't help that! It's who I am! I must piss a lot of people off!
-
Only when someone says that smug, "You don't know what you're talking about, hon," or any other patronizing variations.
-
if its as a joke its cool, but otherwise it pisses the life out of me !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
I don't like hun. Babe can be endearing if it's meant. I prefer being called things that are intimate and special rather than generic.
-
I hate it when sales clerks call you hun or dear. It makes me feel old. Usually they are older than me.
-
Not annoyed so much as sickened.Yuck.
-
it's ok if it's like a family member but when it's some stranger it's creepy i also hate sweetheart
-
Nope ! Doesn't bother me a bit . You have to admit... There are a great many worse things you could be called.
-
Surprised more than annoyed since I don't get called names like that much.
-
I love terms of endearment. It shows a desire to be close.
-
no i know its meant affectionatly.
-
no why??its only a phrase :)
-
nah .. it's all cool :)
-
I like it
-
Eh, If its my boyfriend calling me babe, I get annoyed. I feel weird like he doesnt really care about me and like Thats what he's called his ex-girlfriends.
-
Don't mind as such, it annoys me when people use them in texts and emails but not in real life becuase then they're tryin' to be something they're not! I know a number of people like that. Also if they are used excessively.
-
Oh my god, I hate that, my best friend an her boyfriend call each other Hun and Babe (Worst part is who she thinks she's talking to and calls *me* that crap), and I think it's the dumbest thing ever. You either have a nickname or your real name, not exceptions in my opinion. Those terms of endearment are not individualized, no originality. Its boring and not to mention, very annoying.
