Desktop, every seven years. Laptop, one every year to eighteen months.

I upgrade all the time, depending what I am wish to do on the PC. I do so because I also enjoy building PC's, namely gaming rigs. I also deliberately crash the PC , to find out what I need to do or learn to get it back up and running.

Not often enough. Specially the CPU unit on the right..

As often as I feel it can no longer do the job I require from it. That is not that frequently. This PC is almost a year old and I am still not used to it.

Upgraded as needed, which is rare. I think that, aside form a bigger hard drive, I likely won't need any more upgrades for my current box. Replace? Average of about every two years... when a friend upgrades.

I built this one 2 1/2 yrs ago and have only upgraded the ram as in added more, and really have no need to replace any time soon, might add some stuff as software comes up, but probably won't build another one until at least 2 yrs.

About every 3-4 years, depends whats new and whats better. I built my own computer about 3 years ago and still runs with no sweat. No viruses and no problems ever. I clean it out once a week and know how to use it properly. lol all in all upgrades are a must. their fixes, do them!!!

Usually I wait til one dies, then replace it with a better one. My OptiPlex 755 was replaced by an OptiPlex 960, but that took over five months, so this time around I have already bought a OptiPlex 7010, waiting for the current one to crash'n'burn. I don't make the same mistake twice.
