  • No, George Bush did not send us to war because of 9/11. He just tried to tie 9/11 and the outright lie that Saddam Hussein had weapons of mass destruction together to perpetuate his little "War on Terror"
  • NO, but he may have tried to make a lot of people think it was... back then people wanted justice and revenge and iraq was close enough for some people... even though iraq had absolutely NOTHING to do with 9/11 and there was no real evidence that there was a dangerous amount of al qaeda in iraq prior to the start of the war..
    • Archie Bunker
Actually, there were alot of Al Queda in Iraq. And, despite what the hippies tell you, there were WMDs in Iraq. Chemical weapons to be exact. I was there and saw them.

      Amen, brother!
  • NO,he just used it as an excuse to take away every right to privacy we had with the Patriot Act.
  • No , if anything he tried to save America , he knew who was behind 9-11
  • The other answers here are pretty low effort. The fact is that the USA invaded Afghanistan in Early October of 2001 as a direct result of the Afghan government refusing to turn over Osama bin Laden after the 911 attacks. Once the war started, John Ashcroft (then Defense Secretary) revised the deal to say that we would remain in Afghanistan until all of the terrorists were apprehended. So, the Afghanistan War (2001-present) is absolutely an indirect result of the attacks.
