      TRU knew they were taking on $5B in debt as part of the deal, ostensibly to buy out the competition (already owned by Bain Capital), improve their online presence (eToys) and B&Ms. Sales never improved, but the debt had to be paid every year. The stock had been in the low $20s earlier that year and was bought out at $26.75. At least the shareholders got something in their pockets.
