  • It should work with DDR400 but it will underclock to a lower speed. Compatibility will depend on how well the manufacturer programed the SPD on the DIMM. So choosing the right DIMM will be very important. Go with Crucial, the SPDs on their DDR400 DIMMs are properly programed to underclock. You could even run specialty DDR1 433 or 500. http://www.crucial.com/store/listmodule.aspx?family=DDR&tabid=DDR+PC3200 The advantage of running DDR400 on a system designed for DDR333 means you may be able to lower the latency down to 2-2-2-5 for even greater performance. Do make sure your BIOS is up to date before using faster memory. http://www.gigabyte.com.tw/Products/Motherboard/Products_Spec.aspx?ProductID=1764
