  • buy the proper factory matching box for it" or go after market fully manuelised auto with a shit kit it the 1991 box wont go its got a far few diffences ,and your new cars computer wont run it unless you want too spend big $$$$$$$$''s
  • okay, so I have this exact swap, I warn you not to under take it unless you are dedicated and have the ability to make a transmission mount. The 98 lude came with several engines but since you said "more power" I asume you are talking about the H sereis. You need an H sereis manual transmission, you cannot use a transmission from a SH prelude however, once you get the right tranny you need to use shift cables from a 91-93 accord because the stock 91 prelude cables are too short and the stock 98 prelude cables will not attach to the car. The accord cables will run you about $300.00 new. Once you have the cables you will need to use the engine mount on the timming cover from the 98 lude, the front mount by the radiator from the 98lude, the rear mount under the intake manifold from the 98 lude, and the part of the trans mount that bolts to the tanny from the 98 lude- then fabricate the protion that connects to the body. Once you have all this done you are still going to need to do the electrical, the 98 lude is an OBD II contorl system and the prelude was OBD 0 until 92 and unfortunatly the two are not compatable.
