I don't know. He needs to broaden his vocabulary so he can express himself better, perhaps? Name calling is really best left on the schoolyard. It's not for adults who are trying to have and maintain a strong relationship. I hope he realizes this, and finds other ways to express his feelings to you. We can all be jerks from time to time, but it would be totally unacceptable for my husband to call me a bitch.

Because he lacks respect for you, which, by the way, is HIS issue, not yours. Just because someone doesn't respect you doesn't mean you are not respectable. It just means that you have someone in your life who is trying to control you through the tools of oppression. My suggestion, not that you asked for it, is to COMPLETELY ignore him when he talks to you that way. Respond to him ONLY when he treats speaks to you in a respectful way.

Well, if it is in a joking manner, that's one thing. But obviously since you posted your question here, it's not something you two joked about. That said, don't allow him to talk to you that way, you deserve better than that. If you have children together, make sure they never hear that from him either. Seems to me your hubby is a jerk and needs to take a long hard look at himself and respect his wife and women in general.
