Poe's "A Rose is a Rose" is a story about the Bible's Jezebel being "courted" at a party by famous male writers. Then they catch her making out with Gertrude Stein. It's really a great song, done in lounge-lizard style. I love it. ^_^

Yes! If you want songs that directly explain that the two people are the same gender (not just assuming the singer's gender; this is tough because most songs really don't mention the narrator's gender) and that they're in a relationship (not just that they kissed a couple times or something), there are a lot fewer than if you're okay with any romantic song sung by, say, a woman to another woman. If you want the more specific case, I'd look at: Two Little Girls by Ani Difranco (she's bi; song's about an ex-girlfriend's harmful relationship, so not exactly a love song) Radical by Catie Curtis Marie by Adrianne (about a married woman's affair with the woman she loves in a conservative area) Take Me or Leave Me from Rent (a breakup song...)
