If you were replacing the floor in your living room, what would you want to have installed? Why?

I would love to tear up the carpet and have wood floors because of my asthma. You'll be over in the morning to help BD:)...?

I would replace the carpeting in my house with wood floors cause they are better for people who have allergies, and they are easier to clean.

I would put hardwoods in my formal living room and I would put one of those twist carpets in my den.

Hardwood. No carpeting. I like hardwood and it is so much easier to keep clean. I would eliminate all the carpeting in the house except the bedrooms.

I would love for my living room floor to be installed in a house on a beach in Belize.

I'd have a GLASS floor, with water and fish underneath the glass. Wouldn't that be cool?:)

wood floors. theyre easy to install, easy to clean, and go with any color room.

Heated wood floors, then you don't have to vacuum and the floor wouldn't be cold when you get up in the morning.

All these people loving the wood floors... I can't stand hardwood floors in my living space. I'd install good wool carpet: soft under my feet, stain resistant, durable, and no toxic fumes after installation.

If I had a house, it would be hardwood floors. They are easier to maintain then to carpet clean carpet flooring every month, during the warm months. With wood flooring, you just damp mop, and wax every so many months to protect them. You could get nice carpet covering to keep your feet warm.

Solid black marble, buffed and polished to a smooth, semi-reflective sheen.

Tatami mats. There is nothing as wonderful as lying on fresh tatami. Beautiful and functional too. Don't wear your shoes indoors, though.

We did...tiles.

We now have ceramic tiles, and it's great for the dogs. But we dream of one day installing some beautiful bamboo or hardwood flooring!

Well i have laminate wood flooring at the moment, we've had it for about 7 years now and with the kids its been great, im gonna replace it this year, was going to put carpet down, but the kids make so much mess still. So, ive decided to put down a hardwood floor, a dark one, as the laminate i have at the moment is light. I would really love slate tiles but i have a large lounge/dining room and it would cost a fortune!

I've always loved the look of parquet floors, so that is what I'd like if it were possible! :)

I moved into my current house and immediately covered the NEW wooden, polished floors with carpet because the wood made the house seem very cold. People thought that I was mad but I made the correct decision for ME. To be happy and content in a new home everything has to please US not other people.
