Yes, Dad make sure that I was able to do so as soon as I started driving. Good 'ol Dad :)
-
Only if I can find my jack in the midst of everything in my trunk. I even change tires for others when I can.
-
Yes of course, its the easiest bit of maintenance you can do on a car! Jack it up, undo a few bolts, change the whole wheel to the spare, then redo the bolts, drop the jack! Bang bang, done!
-
Of course, but then how would I get the ladies to stop and help me? Nothing says "desperate" like a helpless man on the side of the road with a flat tire.
-
I can, I have, and I've done it for my wife and others. One of those things my dad taught me as a kid.
-
I'm one of the few girls I know that can!!
-
Yes but I carry a AAA card so I don't have to.
-
If I can - if some super testosteroned jock hasn't tighten the nuts so tight that it took a super heavy duty air compressor gun thingie to get them off. If that hasn't happened then I can and do change my tires and anybody else's who can't do it for themselves. I can also change the oil, spark plugs and other routine maintenance type things that go with having a car.
-
Yes, I can.
-
yup. My dad wanted to make sure his girls could take care of business themselves and taught my sister and I how to do it. I can also change my own oil. I rock.
-
Sure I can. I also showed my wife and made sure she could.
-
sorry no can do...
-
absolutely :)
-
I could change all four if I had to.
-
Yes, I can and many other auto related tasks as well.
-
Sure I can but I'm at the point in my life where I can also afford to call someone to do it for me.
-
Uhh, no. I don't even know if I have a spare, or where to begin to look for it.
-
Yes I can, much to the surprise of many men around me. I can also change my own oil! :)
-
I must admit I can not do that. I have AAA for that though.
-
Yep Yep! I kinda have to know from being out on the road so much
-
Sure, as long as I did not risk breaking a nail.
-
I can (and have) if I have to, but I prefer to have someone do it for me!
-
Yep ! As long as I have a jack, lug wrench, and a good spare, it's no problem . Unfortunately it seems that 90 percent of the time , it's happened to me when it's rainy wet and nasty outside and I'm laying on my back on the wet ground getting the spare from under the back of my truck. That sucks !!!!!!!!! I usually carry a spare shirt, wet ones and a towel behind my back seat ;-)
-
Eventually. After I figure out where the spare is. LOL
-
Yeppers. I might do the brakes and/or change the oil while I'm down there too.
-
Yes,but why?:)
-
Yes i can and change my oil as well...I love being a lady..However, if someone offers and my hands can stay clean then clean i will stay.....
-
Absolutely... as long as I remembered to replace the tire from the last time I had a flat. I have forgotten before and it wasn't pretty. Richard Shines
-
I'm sure I could if I had to, I have seen it done enough times to figure it out. But also one of the benefits of having a husband is you never have to change a tire
-
You MUST change it yourself when you live in Russia. When you stuck in snow at -30C it's such a hard task :)
-
I can, but I have AAA so I don't have to unless it's a real emergency & I can't wait.
-
Blindfolded, bound and with a monkey on my back.
-
Once I learned to drive, I asked my husband to show me how and then sit back and see if I can do it. I didn't want to be a stranded female not knowing how. I did pretty good but I did it on a 4x4 truck! LOL!! It wasn't easy. But I'm glad I learned.
-
Yes i can and i think this and other things like checking the water and oil levels should be part of the driving test
-
yeh its probably the easiest thing to do besides filling gas
-
If you can't change a tire- you shouldn't be driving ! just my .02
-
easily.
-
Yes. If you can't change a flat tire then you should consider trading places in life with a quadriplegic, because they are the only people who have an excuse not to be able to perform this simple task. Literally, a 12 year old could comprehend this. If you don't know how to do this, go outside and take the jack out of your trunk. POSITION IT UNDER THE FRAME OF YOUR CAR. THE _FRAME_. Today cars are not thick enough to simply put it under a random part of the body. They are made of beer cans. BREAK THE LUGS on your wheel with a TIRE IRON. THEN JACK UP YOUR CAR (THE JACK HAS A SIMPLE MECHANISM FOR THIS. IT MAY INVOLVE CRANKING). Remove the LUGS. REPLACE WHEEL WITH SPARE WHEEL. TIGHTEN LUGS until the wheel is square against the assembly. ALTERNATE tightening THE LUGS IN A STAR FORMATION. Let the jack down and tighten them again hard. IF you fail to change your own tire, try finding some real instructions or a friend for help. If you still fail, don't drive a car.
-
With the spare, no prob. Repairing or replacing it altogether I would need assistance.
-
Yes I can and have done it before. But that doesn't mean that if my husband is around that I won't play the girl card and let him do it.
-
Oh yeah! I was trained by some of the best and my skills have come to good use.
-
yes!!
-
no, but i can call someone who can. the last time i had one ... i drove 25 MPH for 45 minutes to get home with a flat and wait for someone to fix it. it turns out the zoning inspector was there to check up on my house and he was nice enough to change it for me. I don't know what i would do without random acts of kindness.
-
I am completely capable, but I usually call AAA motorclub anyway... that's a reason I pay for it...
-
Easy peasy
-
I could do that and al lot more like change waterpump, brake pads etc. Now, I'm 65 and have CPD, so I get out of breath just sitting down to place the jack. Old ageis not good. Avoid it.
-
Yes. I've helped a few other stranded strangers with their tires too. It shocks me how little people seem to know about their vehicles.
-
Yes, the last time was 13 months ago. It takes me less than 15 minutes.
-
Yes, easily ... but not with race track record breaking speed.
-
No problem as long as you can use the jack and wheel brace
-
Yes I can, and I have done so before.
-
Sure can, and I have. I've assisted friends before, too. It was one of the first things I taught myself when I started driving.
-
I would hope so. I belive it should be part of the dmv exam to get your DL>
-
long as you have the gear
-
Yep. quite easily
-
Yes I Can!
-
Yes, of course.
-
nope, there's no way i could change it, sadly
-
Yup, there was this one time when I got a flat driving out to my freinds log cabin (about 50 miles on an old logging road) and when I pulled the spare out from under my truck it was flat because the rim of the spare rusted out. It was probably the road salt. I put the spare on anyways and my friend had some mono expanding foam insulation at his camp so I pulled the valve out of the valve stem and jammed the straw from the can of mono in there and emptied the can into the tire. The tire held up for the whole ride home while the theme song to McGygver was playing in the background (or in my head).
-
you are dumb if you dont know how to change a flat tire
-
I would wait till some nice guy offerd his help ;o)
-
yes i can .i can fix about anything on a car
-
Yes I have before. And I'm a 16 year old girl haha
-
Nope. I usually make someone else do it :] I don't trust myself with doing it. But I'm probably just too lazy :)
-
i could if i had a spare! lol.
-
Yes I can.
-
Sure. Everyone should know how to do that.
-
yes
-
Yes, but though I'm a guy, I still find it annoying. The hard part is the removing/installing the 4 or 5 wheel nuts and the yanking in and out of the tire. The tire is heavy, and you get dirty. I wish car makers would mass produce those wheels with one huge screw in the center which is removed and installed by a pneumatic tool, like in Rally and Formula 1 cars.
-
I am able to change a tire. I have done it a few times. However, I pay for AAA and my care has roadside assistance built into its purchase. If it is not a long wait I would let someone else do the job that is dressed for it and has better equipment, as well.
-
i could, but i wouldn't.
-
That's child's play. Too easy.
-
yea! easy!
