Not long. A benzo builds in the blood stream then stores in the fat cells. This drug also requires more milligrams to produce the same affect in a very short time. It does not just pass through the liver. It is a builder drug. It is highly addictive and more dangerous to detox from than alcohol. Seizures, shakes, sweating, rapid thoughts .. etc.. It causes PAWS post acute withdrawl symptoms. You think it out of your system you can go on.. life is great. But because it's stored in fat cells it is a very long, agonizing detox. Best for sleep? 1mg melatonin(any drugstore) anxiety, valarian root.. tastes awful but works .. get liquid sL better at health food store for this.

Taking it as the doctor prescribed, it really shouldn't start to cause an addiction for some time. You would have to consistently take it for over a month. I'm assuming you are taking something for sleep, or anxiety as needed...typically you shouldn't take them for more than 7-10 days in a row, the longer you continue to take them over that time your risk of addiction increases.
