I can't really choose, to be honest. I like both of them equally. They both have this indescribable beauty, though real life are tends to evoke emotions that are more palpable, as you're able to relate to it easier than a piece of abstract...but that's not to say that the abstract doesn't evoke the same kind of emotion. It's just harder to place your finger on why.

as an art student myself i like real life
-
I like Abstract personally. While real life art may show emotions one is having, So does abstract... And it is usually something I can relate to.
-
Wassily Kandinsky is my favorite artist. I LOVE THE ABSTRACT. The two prints below are my fav's from him.
-
i love both. sorry,AB isn't allowing the abstract piece.
-
photography, landscape and black & white prints are my favorite... it's something about capturing the scene in the moment that really intrigues me.
-
I like them both. I don't like when people try to pass off shitty work as abstract though. That is a huge irritant to me. As long as it's good art, I like it.
-
I actually love abstract, where you see what you want to see....or think you see...
-
"Martial Art" ... actually, I prefer real art, or painting type art that is more like an accurate photo than some strange abstract interpretation.
-
Any art, provided it is interesting and well done.
-
Abstract er I think that is what it's called - Looks kinda like this
-
I like abstract really well esp. Salvador Dali but I also have a real affinity to Paul Detlefsen's work and 40's pin ups as well.
-
I'm a sucker for real life. That abstract kind of hurts my head.
-
Real life art. I have a hard time trying to figure out what the abstract stuff is supposed to mean.
-
I like all types of art. I'm into photography, stuff like Ansel Adams (1st pic), Giger (2nd pic). There is a lot of shit that is passed off as abstract though.
-
Real life art...I find abstract weird and meaningless.
-
I prefer them both...
-
Well, I am better at real life but abstract I am learning. Not that easy for me though
-
Both, i believe each one has a different kind of beauty to it, the real life art is much more raw and it has more feeling to it, and the abstract makes you ponder i don't know how to describe it so i hope that made sense.
-
I find real life more interesting to look at. However I like them both.
-
I love real life art. Especially photography. I love it when a picture can "take you there." It is like an escape from the mundane, into a world that you create and control.
-
Real life. I don't get abstract, probably never will.
-
There is sometimes a lot more life in abstract art than in some realistic art. For instance Kandinsky: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kandinsky I like the kind of art which arises from life, but a lot of realistic art arises from death or just lack of imagination. I also like the kind of art that makes my intuition work. As a conclusion, I can appreciate both, as long as they gives me something valuable. There is always something interesting to find in any kind of art, as long as it is inspired.
-
I prefer real life art.
-
I would not make this distinction. I like any good art. Good art for me is art that stirs my emotion and stimulates my mind. I also think that every art is real as well as abstract, because a work of art gives form to something that has been observed. The process of giving form always has an abstract element in it.
-
depends on the pieces I like both a lot.
-
I find myself drawn to oil and watercolours of rural landscapes and water scenes. I like some abstracts for their context and feelings they omit, however the calming effect of a natural scene is much nicer for me.
-
i'm not usually into "real life" art because i figure i can always go out and actually see it and it always looks better live. but things created from imagination fascinate me ;)
