I don't usually, but since you asked... I dated a freshman when I was a junior... no big deal

If they like each other then that's fine, but I think things may get weird.

These days with Seniors being 18 and 19 years old and freshmen being 14 I wouold be bothered by it. The maturity levels are vastly different.

No reason for the neg...+5 Honestly, as a freshman I dated seniors and it was fine, but the age gap meant that there were certain things that we couldn't do together...like being at a mall after 8pm, or seeing rated R movies, or even going to teen clubs on the weekends. Also, there's the very real issue that anything sexual that happens puts the older one in the relationship in a position where they can go to jail. So, be careful.

I think that the fundamental, developmental differences between a 14 year old and a 18 year old can be huge. But having said this, I recognize that this is not always true. It would depend on the specific people involved and their maturity levels. But keep in mind, a sexual relationship between and 18 yr old and anyone under the age of 18 may be considered "statuatory rape" and is illegal in many places.

I think 14 is to young to be "going out" with someone that much older. What do your parents think?
