Do you consider the term "pedophile" to be synonymous with the phrase "child molester"? Why or why not?

Not exactly. A pedophile is someone who has a sexual attraction to children. A child molester is someone who acts on that attraction.

i think this is a good question. my mom would say that it is indeed synonymous with the phrase child molester. however, just because someone is attracted to children, doesn't make them dangerous or evil. it's when they act on that attraction that it becomes a problem. i think pedophiles are fine. as long as they don't act on their fantasies. :)
