Both.
-
A very hard working mom. I still thank her for going out of her way all those years
-
With 6 kids and not many labour-saving appliances, my mom was a stay-at-home-and-work mom. She never did get an automatic washer and dryer; it was the old wringer washer and the outside clothesline.
-
My mom has been at the same job since 1968 and is still there now.
-
Worked all her life. Sometimes two jobs for stretches at a time. Same with my father. We never reached the "well-to-do" category or anything, but in spite of that, my brother and I never felt we were missing anything. Couldn't be more proud of them.
-
Both. She works from home and travels.
-
She worked at first, but then she became disabled, so she was a stay at home mom.
-
She was a stay at home mom
-
Both. Actually, both my parents stayed home at all times. My dad ran a business out of the house. My mom helped him. My mom home schooled us and kept house, and my dad helped her.
-
Working mom.
-
Mom worked very hard.
-
A little of both. My mom stayed home most of the time, but went to work when my dad had gotten hurt at work and was on workman's comp for a while. Then, my dad had his own business and my mom was the office. Until I hurt my shoulder (he had a roofing company and I worked on-site) and then I became the office and my mom retired. (Yes, the office, not admin or secretary...either her or I were the only one in there!)
-
My mom was a working mom- a single mother of 5 to be exact. She worked all the time and still managed to be around to take care of us alot. I don't think she slept.
-
My mom was a stay at home, talk on the phone, watch the soap operas, doing some laundry and dishes and making some sad dinner.
-
She was a stay at home mother until I was 15 years old. Then she worked the remainder of her life.
-
She did both. My parents had several businesses and she was part of it so often she would need to go to work. Often, during the summer I would go to work with her and we would come home early. I think she did it in a balanced way, giving me both sides of it.
-
My mom was a stay at home mom that was always off by the time I got out of school. Remember though that all stay at home mom's are working moms because it is hard work running a house and taking care of kids. You don't get a break or paid time off.
-
mine's always been a working mom
-
Total working Mom. She was a home nurse. I used to go on her visits with her sometimes. =)
-
My mom did both. Mostly she was a working mom, but sometimes when money wasn't so tight she didn't have to work. When I went into the 11th grade she stopped working for a couple years before going back again.
-
She stayed home until I was a junior in high school, not counting substitute teaching occasionally here and there. I appreciate that so much, but I have three kids and am staying home with them and I've done so for SOOO long. (Our oldest is 11 1/2) I'll probably go to some kind of job when our youngest gets into kindergarten or first grade. (He's 2 now). I miss the interaction and challenges of being around people and accomplishing something outside my own home.

Working Mom
-
My rather wealthy, yet cheap bastard father... Gave my mom $200.00 per week to run a household of 6 people. That included both dinner for the week and mad money for us kids. If she ever dared go out and get a job. Whatever she made, he would deduct her pay from her allowance and still expect her to support the house. So she never worked much. Even though she was brilliant and could do anything she put her mind to. That was his way of keeping her under his control. Us kids were the first thing he would use as leverage.
-
Stay at home mom, then when we were all old onough whe went back to school!
-
My Mom was a stay-at-home mom. It was a time when dads, like my Dad, believed that her working outside the home maintaining the home and the children, would suggest that he was inadequate or unfit being the so-called "breadwinner" of the family. In any case, my Mom was my greatest teacher of values, common sense and how the "real world" was. She was incredible. Thanks to her, I came to realize a wonderful, sucessful adult life...totally happy in every thing I have done. I miss them both.
-

A stay at home Mum. That's why I've never felt insecure or neglected about anything. A good honest old fashioned upbringing. BUT! In those days the man earned enough money to provide for his family needs. Now it's a greedy expensive society where the woman has to work whether she wants’ to or not
-

Stay at home moms ARE working moms! My mother did not work outside our home but she worked very hard to give us a decent, clean house, balanced meals, clean clothes, volunteered at school and for various other not for profit organizations, us to all of our clubs and activities and was our greatest supporter, nursed us when we were sick and taught us to be decent caring individuals, and much, much more for our large family, all while moving about every 18 months because our father was in the Navy. Dad was not there to help a lot of the time because he was serving in other countries, on board aircraft carriers, etc. She worked her tush off while were living at home, then went on to a successful career after we were grown.
-
She stayed at home until I was six then worked. +5

My dad made pretty good money, so my Mom was able to stay home with me. I am blessed to have had a mom at home while growing up. She was able to take more time with me and give me lots of attention. I feel this makes for well rounded kids that become well rounded adults. Although I say this, there are so many moms having to work now and those moms have to do the best they can.
