I don't think so..I certainly hope not. Neither feeling it toward someone for a sad situation nor receiving it from someone in sympathy for some loss. Pity generally is not one of my favorite emotions but I like to think it comes from a kind heart.

Pity is but one of the countless facets of love. You can't feel pity if you don't possess the capacity to love.
-
I don't think so. I've felt bad for leaving certain situations, because I had loved that person, so I stayed a little longer than i probably should have, but I was aware of what I was doing, and how I was feeling at the time.

Nope.

I think I did once. +5

Same thing, isnt it?

I have an aversion to pity in any form. the onlooker is falsely elevated. Better to say hello and treat the hungry soul to lunch, or hold the door for the wheelchair bound etc.
