No, most likely that is not true, I don't think that it is cost effective for restaurant owners to slaughter their own meat in the volume that they would need to satisfy the demand of their patrons.

A Chinese restaurant from around where I live was busted after it picked up a deer that had been hit by a car and serving it.

I don't see why they would waste the yummy critters on their patrons. They use them for themselves.
