  • No one living on this planet can really answer this question. It really has to be, what do you believe? If energy cannot be destroyed, then perhaps, it can be re-defind into whatever,?. There are many, whom say that a loved one that has died, has come back to visit them. We again ask, was it their imagination, dream or wishfull thinking, or all three? No one knows. I 'saw' my dad in the back of my taxi years ago, was he really there, I do not know? He had died many years ago. On the other hand, if just say you murdered someone, I would say that it was you un-conciouse mind playing tricks with you, however, perhaps the dead can contact the living! At this stage, no one can confirm if the dead can compute with the living. I and the whole community, would love to hear from the dead, if only.
  • Last year, my Mother-in-Law died. Four months later, during the night, my 7-year old son came to me, saying a 'tuxedo hand' was touching him. I assumed it was a bad dream and he crawled into bed with me. By this time, we were both wide awake. I had just closed my bedroom door and gotten comfortable again, when there were three knocks on my bedroom door. We both said, "come in", assuming it was another of my children (my room is isolated upstairs). No one came in, so I opened the door, to find no one there. I can only guess, it was 'Gaga' visiting her grandson and followed him upstairs. She was a very strong-minded woman.
  • i think they can return adn when they do its Awesome
  • I use to think so, I am still really hopeing they can, But I am starting to think it isn't possible. I lost someone that I love with all my heart and there isn't a doubt he Loved me the same, we didn't like going places without the other, We truly Loved being around each other. We both Looked forward to seeing each other at the end of a work day. My point is... I believe 100% if it was anyway possible, Jimmy would come to visit me. Sure I think I have seen him... but I know how bad I want too. If I don't get a visit from him, then I know for sure it is not possible.
  • Yes, they can. I have been visited by my fiancee several times since his death. Most of the times the only one who can see him is our two year old. And I lived in a house that was haunted my my great aunt. She was always around and you could tell because the attick she stayed in was always cold even in the summer months. The last proof I have is that when a friend of mine died he came back the day of the funeral and was playing with his grand daughter's musical toy. His daughter woke up and told him "We know you're here you can stop now." That toy stopped as soon as those words left her mouth and didn't play again all day.
  • As a Christian, I think not, as the Bible says that there is death and there is judgment, no wandering. However, I do believe in spirits and I believe they impersonate the dead to distract people from following the truth.
  • I fully agree with Frank Peters when he says: "No one living on this planet can really answer this question. It really has to be, what do you believe?" Personally, as an atheist, I do not think it is possible because when our brain stops to function, there is no energy left- at least no one has ever detected energy coming from a dead person's body. I don't believe in any form of afterlife- dead is dead. It's all what we personally believe, imagine or think but no one can say for sure what happens after we die.
  • I truly believe that there is some type of communication from the deceased individual. I lost the love of my life suddenly one morning. He had a massive heart attack next to me in bed. He sat up in bed clutching his chest and was staring at something behind me. I screamed and yelled at him, with his eyes open but no response. He left me that morning. We had spoken to each other a few weeks before he passed about communication if anything happened to either of us. We agreed to let the other person know if they were ok if that was possible. About a month after my husbands death I was very aware of anything that might be considered communication but nothing happened until one night. I had a very intense dream, one that was not an ordinary dream but vivid and shook me to the core. He appeared in a dream to me looking very vibrant, healthy and robust, dressed in clothing that he loved to wear. He was approaching my front door to the house with bags in his arms, like he was bringing something good to me. He had a great big smile on his face and said nothing to me but the look on his face confirmed that he was ok. I woke up crying for joy and will never forget that intense experience. • A lot of cultures believe this. The Spirit World looms large in their spiritual beliefs. Christianity is an exception to this.
  • Yes they can - but not on demand; just like you and me they have other stuff to do. There are too many unexplained goings on for there to be absolutely nothing after death. But at the end of the day it is whether you are open minded enough to see and feel what goes on around you. Those of us who shut our minds to the possibility are missing out big time. Love & Light xx
  • When I die, I'll try to come back and let you know. Until then, it's an open question. : )
  • Nope. No such thing as spirits of the dead.
  • I have seen the soul of my dead father several times. He tried to advice me some thing, but I could not talk to him. My voice was choked.
  • I am hoping that they can. Because my mother just passed away this Friday in the ICU from kidney failure, Diabetes and Gangerne. She died the friday night at 9:22 pm, she was 84 years old. She had been suffering from this sickness for 4 years and had to get half of her right leg amputated from Gangerne. Anyway her wake was this past monday, i tried to talk to her at the funeral parlor over her body, i was crying over her and asking her to show me a sign that she was there, i did not receive any sign. Then i prayed and prayed all night long for her to appear to me, but she didn't. So i am not sure if they can or can't , i used to believe in the after-life, but i believe that if my mother was really there she would have shown me a sign. So i am hoping that they can, but i really don't think that they can, as neither my Father or mother came back and told me anything. in Sorrow Donna
  • No, the spirits of the dead cannot really return to visit the living. I have this answer from the Bible. When the child born to David and Bathsheba died, David said and I quote "I will go to him, but he will not return to me." (2 Samuel 12:23)
  • not without a host... but revenants rise none the less.
  • I guess the restless ones would have a reason to visit...but then...it's just a theory...
  • I believe...I have had signs of it.....some may think it is hopeful thinking or me just being nutz...but when it happens....you know...
  • I used to believe that they can, now i know that they can't. I have been trying to contact my mother and father for long now, not even in a dream do i see them. I am beginning to believe what the bible says, after death we cease to exist, as the dead have no more conscious, and their memory has been wiped out. all they have loved or hated has been perished. The living know one day that they will die, but the dead do not know that they are dead. Says so in the Holy Bible. Sad But True. Donna
  • yes i strongly believe they can, through my experience. there is so much more to this universe than what we can see and this is one of them.
  • No, that is why there are gates on the cemetery... so they can't escape and bother anyone.
  • As a christian, I can say yes, from experience. I am reading a book title Life After Death, by Deepak Chopra...even he says it is possible. . http://www.chopra.com/
  • Spirits of the dead really can return and visit the living so long as the living have mental illness or are prone to exaggeration.
  • *** kt pp. 2-3 Would You Like to Know the Truth? *** What Happens to Us When We Die? WHY THE QUESTION ARISES: Most of the world’s religions teach that something inside a person continues living after death. Some hold that the dead can harm the living or that God punishes the wicked by condemning them to eternal torment in a fiery hell. WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES: At death, humans cease to exist. “The dead . . . are conscious of nothing at all,” states Ecclesiastes 9:5. Since the dead cannot know, feel, or experience anything, they cannot harm—or help—the living.—Psalm 146:3, 4. See also Genesis 3:19 and Ecclesiastes 9:6, 10. Is There Any Hope for the Dead? WHY THE QUESTION ARISES: We want to live, and we want to enjoy life with those we love. It is only natural that we yearn to see our dead loved ones again. WHAT THE BIBLE TEACHES: Most people who have died will be resurrected. Jesus promised that “those in the memorial tombs will . . . come out.” (John 5:28, 29) In harmony with God’s original purpose, those resurrected as humans will have the opportunity to live on a paradise earth. (Luke 23:43) This promised future includes perfect health and everlasting life for obedient humans. The Bible says: “The righteous themselves will possess the earth, and they will reside forever upon it.”—Psalm 37:29. See also Job 14:14, 15; Luke 7:11-17; and Acts 24:15. • Yes, I'm proof. A couple of nights ago I fell asleep on AB, nothing new there, only to be wakened by a blinding light from a lamp that had been moved in fromt of a nearby mirror, so the light would reflect directly into my headlamps. To top it off, my tube top was pulled down revealing my heaving buxon breasts....;+ damn Civil was Soldier needs to get some manners or he'll be gettin some woop arse from me...
  • No. Once you're dead, you're dead and your spirit is not coming back.
  • Yes~they come and go~sometimes they are Poltergeist and play tricks on you like you lose your keys or wallet or cell phone and a year later you find it under your bed or in your truck/car or someplace in a drawer where you looked 100 times~~its weird~~somethimes the ghost just makes the light flicker or go out
  • ...I think they can...often, these spirits are trapped...by their own desires still lingering ...or the desires of others....
  • *** it-1 pp. 612-613 Demon *** DEMON An invisible, wicked, spirit creature having superhuman powers. The common Greek word for demon (dai′mon) occurs only once in the Christian Greek Scriptures, in Matthew 8:31; elsewhere the word dai·mo′ni·on appears. Pneu′ma, the Greek word for “spirit,” at times is applied to wicked spirits, or demons. (Mt 8:16) It also occurs qualified by terms such as “wicked,” “unclean,” “speechless,” and “deaf.”—Lu 7:21; Mt 10:1; Mr 9:17, 25; see SPIRIT (Spirit Persons). The demons as such were not created by God. The first to make himself one was Satan the Devil (see SATAN), who became the ruler of other angelic sons of God who also made themselves demons. (Mt 12:24, 26) In Noah’s day disobedient angels materialized, married women, fathered a hybrid generation known as Nephilim (see NEPHILIM), and then dematerialized when the Flood came. (Ge 6:1-4) However, upon returning to the spirit realm, they did not regain their lofty original position, for Jude 6 says: “The angels that did not keep their original position but forsook their own proper dwelling place he has reserved with eternal bonds under dense darkness for the judgment of the great day.” (1Pe 3:19, 20) So it is in this condition of dense spiritual darkness that they must now confine their operations. (2Pe 2:4) Though evidently restrained from materializing, they still have great power and influence over the minds and lives of men, even having the ability to enter into and possess humans and animals, and the facts show that they also use inanimate things such as houses, fetishes, and charms.—Mt 12:43-45; Lu 8:27-33; see DEMON POSSESSION. The purpose of all such demonic activity is to turn people against Jehovah and the pure worship of God. Jehovah’s law, therefore, strictly forbade demonism in any form. (De 18:10-12) However, wayward Israel went so far astray as to sacrifice their sons and daughters to the demons. (Ps 106:37; De 32:17; 2Ch 11:15) When Jesus was on earth demon influence was very prevalent, and some of his greatest miracles consisted of expelling wicked spirits from victimized persons. (Mt 8:31, 32; 9:33, 34; Mr 1:39; 7:26-30; Lu 8:2; 13:32) Jesus gave this same power to his 12 apostles and to the 70 that he sent out, so that in the name of Jesus they too could cast out the demons.—Mt 10:8; Mr 3:14, 15; 6:13; Lu 9:1; 10:17. Demon influence in human affairs is no less manifest today. It is still true that “the things which the nations sacrifice they sacrifice to demons.” (1Co 10:20) In the last book of the Bible, the “revelation by Jesus Christ, which God gave him, to show his slaves the things that must shortly take place,” prophetic warning is given concerning accelerated demon activity on the earth. (Re 1:1) “Down the great dragon was hurled, the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth; he was hurled down to the earth, and his angels [demons] were hurled down with him. On this account . . . woe for the earth and for the sea, because the Devil has come down to you, having great anger, knowing he has a short period of time.” (Re 12:9, 12) Unclean, froglike expressions “are, in fact, expressions inspired by demons and perform signs, and they go forth to the kings of the entire inhabited earth, to gather them together to the war of the great day of God the Almighty.”—Re 16:13, 14. Christians must, therefore, put up a hard fight against these unseen wicked spirits. James, in arguing that belief alone is not sufficient, says: “You believe there is one God, do you? You are doing quite well. And yet the demons believe and shudder.” (Jas 2:19) “In later periods of time,” warned Paul, “some will fall away from the faith, paying attention to misleading inspired utterances and teachings of demons.” (1Ti 4:1) One cannot eat of Jehovah’s table and at the same time feed from the table of demons. (1Co 10:21) The faithful, therefore, must put up a hard fight against the Devil and his demons, “against the world rulers of this darkness, against the wicked spirit forces in the heavenly places.”—Eph 6:12. This is who the spirits are not dead humans. For the book “What does the bible really teach?” go to www.watchtower.org. • yes they do. sometimes isnt something you want visiting you from the dead
  • I have been visisted a couple of times by loved ones. It's not scarry when it happens b/c it just suddenly happens and it makes you wonder if it is what it is. I know for sure that this is possible. When my fiancee was minutes from his death... I sat beside his bed and reassured him that it was ok to let go and go to God. I let him know that I am a strong woman and that I would be ok. When I finished talking, he opened his eyes and looked deeply into my eyes. His eyes were shinning with a light that came through them. We were both encased in some sort of a bubble that was not of this earth. I felt a very DEEP joy, love, happiness, and peace that we as humans cannot imagine. It was so entense, so beautiful. The hospice nurse said it was a gift from God that I was actually in another dimension with him. He spoke to me through his mind. One of the things that he said was that it all makes sense in the end. This experience lasted approximately 15 seconds. I was slowly taken back to myself and at that same moment, he slowly closed his eyes, left out a breath and died. This was a very powerful experience. I feel blessed that this happened to me. I will never have any doubts that there is an afterlife that is peaceful. He died 4 years ago and came to me one time. I have seen him in pictures though. I don't care if anyone believes this or not. I do know that there is life after death and that we are protected and watched over by our loved ones.
  • Hi there. When our physical body 'dies' or gives up, we actually still exist, although in a non physical form. The term 'dead' does not adequately nor accurately describe our state of existence. We are still around in another dimension or plane of existence, known as the afterlife of which it is said, there are many levels (think of tower blocks, sjyscrapers with many floors). The person who passes from physical existence into this other dimension will find themselves arriving at a level that is suited to their own stage of spiritual development at the time of their passing. These spirits or non physical persons can visit their relatives and friends, although communication with them can be difficult because of the differing vibrational rates of existence that spirits and physical humans exist at. Mediums work with spirits by raising their consciousness (their vibrational rate)and spirits by lowering theirs and meeting in the middle so that communication may take place, then the medium can act as a conduit or channel for spirits to converse with whom they wish. Physical manifestations of a person who has passed over from death to this new dimension can occur also and result in people seeing their 'dead' relatives or friends appearing before their eyes, sometimes saying something (without the need for a medium)of consequence to the living. www.stevezepoloid.com
