  • It should be restored or at least posted in the blog as to why this action was taken.
  • How ridiculous. Some people are unbelievably cold hearted and cruel. Shame on whomever it was that flagged it. We don't need that type of "person" around here.
  • If this is not a lie... I am very sad. =*(
  • I cannot believe that! That is ridiculous! I am outraged at the AB Staff's choice to reject that question. I think it's time for moderation reform. All of these perfectly legitimate questions being flagged is ridiculous.
  • Yes because I have felt weird all day having know this fact. I really have been doing some soul searching and it has deeply affected me. Count me in.
  • How do you do that?
  • I am with you it should be restored! I posted on the blog!
  • yeah count me in , its a joke that it was flagged ..lets hope AB is not going down the yahoo answers path and I would like to post to the blog ...can you let me know how to do this as I haven't got a clue how to or where to find it
  • Yes, I want it restored.
  • Bring it back, and ban the loser that flagged it!!!!
  • I agree that it should be restored, and I've posted to the blog. But before we all take the staff to task, I think they should be given some time to respond -- it may have been interpreted as a joke or mistake by a moderator and user who weren't paying close attention. I'm pretty confident it will be restored with steady support from the users.
  • You bet I will. And I want the person who flagged it punished.
  • I know it wasn't technically a question, but I think it was appropiate because it's really like losing a family member here on AB, everyone had the right to be informed. Ok - so it wasn't a question, does that make it nonsense? - In this example, I say no - perhaps the AB staff would allow Gina to rephrase it into a proper question without everyone having to rewrite the grief stricken answers - that seems like a fair trade off to me. Give the Asshole 5 points and tell him to go to hell. That's my opinion.
  • I find it odd that your notification was flagged. and I also wonder why, when I flag something that's very obviously offensive (and spam or nonsense), I get notices that the flag was rejected. (most recently this evening, I flagged a question from someone...a homophobe...questioning if we thought people were born gay...because "God says it's an abomination." I've seen much worse and flagged them, and they are a lot of times rejected when AB says they are only using freedom of speech. sheesh!
  • OMG!!! I didn't know about this, i am so sad! How? I am also confused how do i post in a blog? Is this the blog? That is sooooooooooo mean someone would flag that. WOW!!!I am stunned.
  • If it is not restored I will be gone tomorrow....I don't think they would care about that either. Are we like family here or not? What the hell is wrong here???
  • Please tell me how to do that
  • Count me in; I've already posted to the blog. This whole thing is just plain wrong!
  • Blank Savage dead? How? What happened? I can't believe it, am so sad. Please restore the question.
  • PLEASE RESTORE THE ORIGINAL THREAD!!!!!! Thanks for starting this effort, Retro. I'm outraged! I know I can be quite picky when it comes to rules, and even I would never dream of flagging such a thing!!!! Who really gives a shit about the rules with something like this? We need to remember him as our friend, and grieve together as the community we are. If it's so damned important that the thing be in the form of a question, couldn't a word or 2 get tweaked and a question mark be put in? Sheesh. I am stunned. I posted to the blog.
  • That is awful to flag this question as nonsense. What happened to people's hearts? Are people getting cold hearted? They should restore it.
  • This is so wrong and if it is not restored I will leave. retro.. thank you for the memorial you have set up for Blank in your profile. It's beautiful and special and i find it very comforting to go and be there and watch the candles. I love you girl. (((hugs)))
  • Retroglide please know I will go to the blog but if there is anything else I can do I will be glad to....it is ridiculous someone flagged that...I agree what in the hell is wrong with someone who would flag that.....very sad....we ARE a family....you would think the staff could see that. :(
  • I think there should be some mechanism to allow us to pay our respects. The flagging was extreme, I felt.
  • I just went there and posted under Firebrands comment + 5
  • How and why was this question rejected? He was a part of the AB family.
  • I will do it right away! Could you please tell me how Blank Savage died? I feel so numb...
  • This is awful.... I posted as well..... I didn't know blank so well, but this is still very sad. I don't know what kind of person flags such a thing!!!!
  • no, I think there should be an official post on the blog about this. When a beloved user dies I think it deserves some attention from the staff.
  • I am so shocked waking up this morning and reading that Blank Savage's Announcement was marked "nonsense"!!! How could anybody do this? How could they not FEEL something and be so heartless? This hurts so bad, enough hurt....Please bring back the question. Restore it to it's rightful place in this Q&A Community.
  • Thank you Retroglide. I will definitly post. He deserves to be remembered here.
  • Just as I suspected, the answer was flagged by an android with ice water running thru his veins. This thread is NOT the same thing as the congratulatory thread. A dear member of our community is dead...possibly by suicide. Many people became close to him and should absolutely be informed when another ABer who we were all chatting with yesterday suddenly dies. You must be some kind of anti-social, sociopath.
  • Thanks Retro, You beat me to it. I didn't see this thread and started another one just like it.
  • I protest to them rejecting that question!!! It was in memory of Black Savage! You would think they have more sympathy!
  • I think this is getting rediculous. How in the hell could that question been rejected as nonsense. Why cause it wasn't asked as a question or there was no question mark. I can't be;ieve this site is getting so petty as to begin to accept nonsense flags so easily without really looking at the content of the question or all the answers. Some people have no sense of decency or compassion and it is a very sad thing. You would think that something like the news of a great man's passing would inspire people to be more like him and try to follow in his shoes instead of being petty and vindictive. If I knew where the coawrd who flagged the question lived I would beat the living crap out of him for being so cold hearted and cruel.
  • Have a little heart and stop making a big deal over something that is so sad. RESTORE THE QUESTION!!!!!!!
  • ==A little late to the game but I also posted. Here's a recap of what went I put on the blog==: I would also like to add my name to the people requesting the Blank Savage post to be reinstated. Let me quote directly from answerbag in the 'About Us' - 'What's in the bag': "Answerbag is a *community* of people helping others. Have a question? Ask it here! Know something? (Everyone knows something!) Help someone out! We're here to help you ***connect with others and to find and share knowledge***" I added the stars to highlight the reasons THAT STATEMENT/QUESTION WAS NOT NONSENSE. Community, connection. These things say we would care when such an honored and contributing member passes from our lives. It's a travesty of what I thought this site represented when that knowledge can't be shared and our release of grief is shut down. Please restore the thread. ==I would like to add a comment I made to MrBLT's answer==: The person who flagged it is the type of person who would get off on all the negative attention, we should pay him/her no mind as we wouldn't have known about the jerk if the staff had done the right thing in the first place. . Now we just need to focus on the corrective action with the staff, I think ___ isn't worth another thought. ==original thread about Blank Savage== http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/426575
  • Already posted in the blog. Unfortunately I didn't get to send my blessing to his family and to him in the other question. Hopefully it will be restored!
  • I would and have. Thank you for organizing this, Retro.
  • I cannot believe that someone could be so petty and assenine as to mark this as nonsense.Whoever did this is pathetic !! Blank Savage was a great guy and deserves better !!
  • Who would even mark the question as nonsense ? :-( On my way to the blog to post now, this is wrong.
  • At least it has been restored now. Im glad to see that.
  • It's been restored! You guys are great! Way to stand up for something you believe in!
  • Yes i agree, restore the question... what a crock of crap it was rejected in the first place.
  • has the question been restored yet? what can i do retro?
  • It takes two stages to reject a question: - some Answerbagger who flags it - some member of the staff to reject it (theoretically, a member of the staff could do both) I am glad that this notification has been restored, although it was not a real question. In the case of such an event, some tolerance and respect should be maintained.
  • http://www.answerbag.com/profile/?id=191291 This is one INTUALLECTUAL gnat.
  • I can understand why it was removed but I think that the rules need to be bent on this one occasion! Something tragic happened and it deserves to have a place here on AB. /signed!
  • Im glad to see the question has now been restored i think i certain degree of sense needs to be used in flagging questions!
  • Have the question restored! He was a member of our community and the question was the only way to inform us as a whole.
