I rewound that bit of the film but i couldnt her what the name was it drove me mad, i hope someone knows the answer.

You really can't make it out... but apparently it's supposed to be "Moonchild".

The mom does nto have a name. In the book, there is not a mother story plt line to tie in the naming business. Bastian simply picks the name Moonchild at the end of the tale because he likes the name. Tying the book to the movie would lead one to believe, inaccurately, that Bastian's mother's name is also Moonchild.
