  • No, I have not accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour. I do not believe in God and I do not believe that Jesus was anything more than a prophet and leader who preached a message that was loving and compassionate. I do not want or need to be saved by anyone or anything. I am responsible for my own actions and inactions and redemption for those actions is not something anyone can simply give me.
  • I have done that - YES. But I am not accustomed to using a foreign word to express my solidarity... I'ts quite pretentious I think, kind of setting apart, not all christians use that expression as freely as others... I think Amen means a little more than just yes...
  • Amen. I did that years ago and have never regretted it.
  • Amen! (I don't need the points to say it)
  • yes i have but i think this question was written poorly if i say amen i have to give no reason but if i say no then you say why not! can we not ask y you have acceded christ as your saviour
  • Yes I have, as I have answered numerous times on this site. The Bible contains Jesus’ statement: “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.” (John 14:6) Paul declared that “there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, a man, Christ Jesus,” and that “Christ . . . pleads for us.” (1 Timothy 2:5; Romans 8:34) This takes on added meaning when we read that Christ is able to “save completely those who are approaching God through him, because he is always alive to plead for them.” (Hebrews 7:25) It is in the name of Jesus Christ that we should approach God. No other person, and certainly no lifeless icon or image, can substitute for him. This knowledge from God’s Word can help anyone seeking the truth to find the way to worship “the Father with spirit and truth” and experience the blessings of this superior way of worship. Yes as Jesus said, “the Father is looking for suchlike ones to worship him.”—John 4:23.
  • Yes, I have acceped him, I couldn't live without faith. Just knowing that I'll see my grandparents & father in law again one day makes me happy
  • The gospel is repent and believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and you shall be saved! I have been saved, it is much more than accepting Jesus into my heart!
  • No, I never did. I beleive that there is a god, or that there is at least a need for a beleif in a god, but I just can't except this theory of Jesus dying for me. I'm not worth killing a fly over. Oh, and please, no one mark this negative like always happens when I'm honest on reglion questions. I'm not dissing anyone's religion or beleifs. It's just my opinion.
  • No... Because I am a Jew.
  • Amen!!!
  • I have. That was years and years ago, and now I cannot stomach the xian 'religion'. (No offense to you Highlander.)
  • I am a Roman Catholic, still practising.Though sometimes it is hard to hang on to your beliefs.
  • I have 25 years ago yesterday and it has been the best 25 years of my life :)
  • I do not need a lord or a savior. I have done little wrong in my life and that which I have done wrong, I have made right with the people I wronged. I do not need fear of punishment or hopes of reward after death to live a good, happy and moral life.
  • No, because... I believe that Jesus was a "mystic" (one who realized his oneness with God) who showed us the way to God. As the saying goes, he broke through the brick wall, and we set up an alter at the hole in the wall. I don't believe in the judgmental, rules-based God of the Old Testament, or that God would ever judge or condemn us, or that we're inherently sinful, or that Jesus needed to be crucified to somehow even the score on our separation from God ("sinfulness"). I see evidence for my beliefs in my personal spiritual life, in my church, in Jesus' teachings, and in the teachings of spiritual masters throughout history.
  • I have!
  • Jesus Christ is a manifestation of human society. We have created religions so we can do two things: 1. Control the masses and 2. Make ourselves feel comfortable with the prospect of death. Human beings are drawn to unreasonable explinations as long as they give answers that make them feel good...such as religion. So...no, I WILL NOT accept a fraud as my "savior"
  • Amen and amen. And to those who don't like "amen" (though it is as anglicised as many other foreign words we've absorbed, like "etc." or "segue" and so forth.
  • Is this sufficient? I have accepted that the only HONEST thing for me to do is be a Christian. It is the one religion that I can genuinely say I can agree with MOST of its tenets etc. Do I 'know' that it is 'true'? No - I have questons, doubts, difficulties and problems with how it is at times. But I do 'know' that it helps guide me to being like the people who are in my church with me - and they are very kind, loving, generous and decent people in how they LIVE and BEHAVE and ACT. 'by their fruits ye shall know them' is what I believe in when it comes to 'choosing' what I believe. However - there are some things I will not do that are insisted upon in our creed. I cannot believe that God made 'disposable people' - AKA 'non-christians' - for example. So - you tell me - should I say 'Amen' or not?
  • no, i haven't. why? because thats not the way my religious beliefs work.
  • i do not accept jesus christ as my lord and savior
  • No. And because I am Muslim.
  • As a confirmed agnostic, I'm still waiting for some evidence (which, by the way I don't think I'll ever find). I'm sure I believe in something, I'm just not sure what it is. I'm quite happy being 'neutral'.
  • Amen, Christ found and saved me 18 years ago and has changed my life so much for the better ever since.
  • Nope. Because A) I am uncertain God(s) exist... and B) If the Judeo-Christian version of God exists, I do not accept that such a God would torture billions of souls for all Eternity. Hence, If Jesus is our Salvation, he has *already* saved all of us and doesn't need our permisssion/acceptance/worship. http://www.bishoppearson.com/gospelOfInclusion.html
  • no i have not , because i never believed he even existed and ig he did, then i would have to say that he was decended from lady isis.
  • Amen. No, not really. I only answered so that you would give me points even though I haven't given any to your question (last night's discussion).
  • I have not because I don't believe that was what he was/is. However, I respect others' beliefs as long as they respect mine. :)
  • I've probably done that every year for ten years. The thing is, I never felt any different after doing it. So, therefore, I'll say Amen! but, I honestly don't think I was accepted.
  • I haven't accepted Jesus Christ as my lord and savior, for several reasons: 1. I don't feel the need to be "saved" because I feel fine as I am. I feel that if I love a good life and be the best person that I can, no harm will come to me in the afterlife (if said afterlife exists). 2. I don't feel that there is sufficient evidence for me to believe in God (nor is there sufficient evidence for me to believe that there ISN'T a God), which rather negates the "Accepting Christ" part of the Christian belief. Thanks for the question. +6
  • As I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep And if I die before I wake I pray the Lord my soul to take Amen (I was taught that prayer at the age of 7, and I would say it softly to myself every night in hopes that He would hear me, but I also learned several Catholic prayers from my grandmother... but all this was before I found my Church) I also said this one a couple of times if I was mad at my friends: As I lay me down to sleep, I pray the Lord my soul to keep And if I die before I wake I pray the Lord my toys to break So _____ can't use them Amen
  • Been doing a bit of soul searching lately. I used to go to church when I was younger. I have been baptized, and have accepted Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior. Been quite a while. Do I still get to say Amen?
  • Because its hard to accept something as your lord and savior if you don't believe it is/was real
  • He passed by but didn't have his ID with him so i sent him back to the Middle East where he comes from
  • I don't know, I havent seen any proof but if someone else has religious beliefs then fine.
  • I don't believe in organized religion.
  • Because I do not believe that Jesus of Nazareth was any more than a man who lived about two thousand years ago who had some good ideas about how we should behave.
  • Amen! And I'm pleasantly surprised by the relatively small number of people who chose to be crude and disrespectful.
  • of course she would
  • Amen ma brotha! and I'm gonna start telling people about it, cause that's what Jesus would do!!
  • Nope. I understand Christianity too well to ever believe in it.
  • because mankind does not need to install anyone as their lord or master. We should be our own masters.
  • I'm not sure what to believe anymore...I've lost faith in Catholicism.
  • Amen,I am a Christian Warrior and proud of it. it is not based on a religion as much as a daily relationship.
  • If by Lord you mean God then no. I have yet to come across any evidence that he said "I am God" or anything as unambiguous as that. Lord as a master, teacher, yes, I have no qualms about that.
  • No. I haven't because Yahweh is categorically the most diabolical, evil entity I've ever heard described, and I don't believe Jesus was any more than an extremely compassionate man. Even if I were inclined to worship such an entity, the sheer number of questions like this annoy me so much that I wouldn't. Why would I want to become just as annoying? http://www.answerbag.com/q_view/388234
  • I am catholic. The concept of being saved as you understand it is implied in my baptism. Therefore I do not need to be saved as that term is currently being used. My conduct and Christ's grace together are my salvation. Simply declaring myself saved is therefore is a wasted act as it is unneccesary for me to do so.
  • Amen!! i would say it even if you weren't givin out points!
  • No, I have not and never will. I hesitate to even say that Jesus existed..let alone god. I simply don't believe in an all powerful, all knowing being. Also, there are many pieces of the Christian doctrine I don't particularly care for. Also I believe some (if not most) Christians don't live entirely the way their own doctrine says they should. If I'm gonna be involved in any sort of religion I would want to follow it to the word. As it is, I'm an atheist/agnostic. I enjoy the idea of there being a god..I just don't believe that there is one and if there were, I certainly wouldn't want it to be the Christian god. However, I do respect the beliefs of others and would never try to push them to believe something else.
  • Believe it or not there are over a thousand religions, what makes your's so much better? You have no proof of this jesus even ever really existed. No other proof of any of the things in that black book being true either. I need a little more than fairy tails to make me believe.
  • On February 13th, 2005 I gave my life to Christ and haven't looked back...haven't needed to. I am thankful for the old-fashioned preacher that preaches the true and unchanging power of God. I have read the comments, I know that some came to this question not to comment on their Salvation but to slander the precious name of Jesus and to them I say "Shame on ya...you had best invest in a fire suit" Jesus died for all, but straight is the gate and narrow is the way and many will, on that last day, cry out to God for mercy but he will simply say "Depart from me...I never knew you" I say proud and loud...Thank you Jesus for dying for this old sinner! -Buddy
  • Firstly, because Jesus was a figurehead , created by the roman empire, ever wonder why a middle eastern religion, ended up having its spiritual capital in ROME??? Not to mention the names of the various rankings in the church are also blatantly roman, just another layer of control, to make sure we dont colour outside the lines.
  • No, I have not. I first of all find it very difficult to believe in a god who considers me an abomination for being gay (and he or she created me like this). And I studied science for 6 years in university and it tended to reinforce my personal beliefs about the universe and life. I just do not accept organized religion as anything more than big business. You can rate this however you want:)
  • Amen and Amen! what is truth? JESUS IS TRUTH!
  • I feel Rabbi Yeshua was an incredible man and helped so many people find their way back to our Creator. He was provocative toward the overly pious higher ups (as was St. Francis) and lifted the poor. As for the Lord and Savior, I mean no offense, but I feel so much of how he came to be that title was through political maneuvering by people other than Yeshua.
  • Amen! God is awesome!
  • No, because of my beliefs, this would not make any sense to me :)
  • If God wants to save me, he will. It is not my place to tell him that he must save me. I realize there are a lot of people who don't believe that's the way to salvation, but that's the kind of salvation I believe in. After all, how is it salvation if the choice of being saved is up to you? That makes no sense to me. If you can convince me otherwise, I'll agree with you. Chances of that happening are slim to nil.
  • I have not because I am not convinced that we even have a Lord and savior, and if we do/did, I am not sure it is Jesus. That sort of sureness requires faith; a quality I lack.
  • I haven't either. I respect people's different religious choices, but I am not a religious person.
  • I haven't, because Jesus would be very disappointed in me if I gave up that easily.
  • No I haven't! Although I think the message of christ was one of peace and that he was for all intents and purposes a cool cat, he wasn't for me! I need more than one god in my life and I have that in the Aesir & Vanir! But that doesn't mean I can't give my props to J.C.!
  • I do appreciate the opinions of religious people, I just can't bring myself to truly believe that there is a greater being or something. I just think we're an independant species and can't see how it could really be possible. But that's just me. :)
  • No, I don't particularly want a lord and I don't need a saviour. Still, I'm open minded so if someone, somewhere can present a convincing argument then I may have a rethink. Never say never. (I'm hedging my bets!)
  • Amen Praise Him
  • I have not ...will not, why? because I have no need for fairy story in my life or the people who preach hate and bigotry and hypocrisy in his name
  • I believe that if God created all life in this world, then he certainly created all the different POV. I just have a different POV.
  • No, for one thing, that story is almost a carbon copy of much earlier stories . The characters and happenings are symbols of the stars ,sun, night, dark, seasons.. astrological etc etc. Short version, but no, I do not believe that Jesus is my Savior. I have nothing against your being happy with your religion, so no offense
  • The Bible has the truth if people would take the time to read it. I won't go to church, but God is in my heart/life.
  • I haven't because it would be delusional thinking and dishonest.
  • Amen! Praise the Lord and HALLELUJAH!
  • Amen :)
  • I'm glad that you found a faith that works for you. I personally was raised catholic, excommunicated because I questioned too much, was an agnostic for awhile, and came to my own personal conclusion that there is no god. I am now an atheist. But I can honestly say that as long as you are not forcing your view on others, and you are not using religion in a negative way, I am happy for you.
  • I do not, I dont believe in god nor christ(he was a man, and nothing more.) Im a atheist.
  • No, I practice nor believe in any religion. I respect those that do, but personally I do not. :)
  • AMEN I did two days ago!
  • I haven't because I don't believe.
  • No.Free will, remember.
  • I have not accepted because I am working to free myself from the tyranny of Christianity and to look at other possibilities. Besides, I feel somewhat better if I came to my own conclusions about religion.
  • I already have an imaginary friend (IF). She's called Fifi. She doesn't mind me having as many IF's as I want but when that Jesus dude wants to be the only one. Since Fifi looks a hell of a lot better in a dress and often brings her IF's to play - I stuck with her.
  • No. Why not? Go to YouTube and watch "The Origin of Jesus Christ" parts I & II to find the awful facts.
  • Joh 3:27 John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.
  • no i have not, simply because i am not a christian. i am purely spiritual and believe that there is some greater force out there and i have no idea about the rest : ) except... everything's gonna be alright
  • No, I don't believe jesus ever existed. There was an Egyptian god named Horus who had the virgin birth and claimed he was the son of god. His life is just like the life of jesus in the New Testament, and his teachings are the same, too. The bible is a combination of ancient religions put together into one. I do believe in god, but not in Jesus. You can go on google and search, "Jesus is Horus" or order a copy of the movie, "The god that was never there."
  • No, I am an atheist. I don't need Jesus to be my savior. I love this quote by Robert Heinlein: When any government, or any church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, 'This you may not read, this you may not see, this you are forbidden to know,' the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man whose mind has been hoodwinked; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, a man whose mind is free. No, not the rack, not fission bombs, not anything--you can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him. [Robert Heinlein]
  • AMEN!!!
  • If he was a savior he could save himself in the first place/-
  • Nope - I already have an imaginary friend. Thanks anyway.
  • No.. as Phil Anselmo says, "I call no one my Father who's no closer than a stranger."
