  • I wouldn't suggest lying on applications about your sex-offender background. I would check out places that are in a manual labor setting such as truck driving or construction, etc. Sometimes people assume that a place won't hire them because of a criminal background, but it's not always true. It's still worth asking. It may also depend on your work experience and personality. Just don't go into the job search feeling defeated. It's hard enough having this record count against you...Going into this defeated won't make it any easier. Good luck! Check if there are any job counseling services in your area. Go to iseek.org if that helps.
  • are you trying to work for the bigger companies?? I've found, and I know where you're coming from, that usually in a big corporation they have "hiring policies". In a smaller company, the president himself might do he hiring, so you have a better shot there even if you're honest. I would also suggest being up front, don't give too much detail about the crime itself, but what positive things and experiences came out of it. Good luck, and please let me know if this helped
