'& she was blinded by the light, cut loose like a deuce another runner in the night, blinded by the light" ? is that what your looking for...the Bruce Springsteen lyrics?

1) ""Blinded by the Light" is a song written and originally recorded by Bruce Springsteen." "It was a dud, failing to chart, although the track later gained airplay on progressive rock radio. It then attained its greatest success when it was covered by Manfred Mann's Earth Band, whose version reached Number 1 on Billboard's Hot 100 in 1977." 2) "Those swiftly-paced, jumbled lyrics are stream of consciousness descriptions of a series of bizarre individuals he met while a young artist in New Jersey. Playing small venues, such as bars along the Jersey Shore, Springsteen recounts various characters from these events. He alludes to Vini "Mad Dog" Lopez, then his drummer, in the opening line "Madman drummers", as well as the "silicone sister" (bartender, possibly referring to an erotic dancer) who encourages him to play a particular, unknown song. United by the chorus: "And (s)he was blinded by the light/cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night/Blinded by the light/(S)he got down but (s)he never got tight,(s)he's gonna make it (alright) tonight", the song goes on to chronicle Springsteen's trouble to get the bar patrons, who rarely cared about or even heard the music, to get excited and into the performance." 3) "The chorus of the song features the commonly misunderstood lyric, "Blinded by the light, cut loose like a deuce, another runner in the night." ("Deuce" refers to a '32 Ford Deuce Coupe.) Many listeners hear the word "douche" in place of "deuce." Manfred Mann's Earth Band changed this line slightly to "revved up like a deuce" (often misquoted as "wrapped up like a douche") and repeated it much more frequently in their version than Springsteen did in the original; they also omitted parts of the verses and rearranged the order of the remaining lyrics." It's 'revved up like a deuce, another runner in the night' It's commonly misinterpreted lyrics. Revved up like a deuce is referring to a car.

I always sang "deuchANT" (douchant?). Lol. I never knew what the F@C& they were talking about. I've always wondered...why write a song that no one can understand. Like when the Chili Peppers came out with Scar Tissue, and no one knew what the lyrics were until the radio d.j. interpreted. I mean...E-NUNC-I-ATE BOYS! ("With the birds, I'll share this lonely view.")

It's revved up like a deuce (a 1932 Ford car)
-
I believe it is "cut loose like a deuce" . like she was discarded like a bad card in poker in an attempt to get a better card.

Madman drummers bummers Indians in the summer With a teenage diplomat In the dumps with the mumps As the adolescent pumps His way into his hat With a boulder on my shoulder Feeling kinda older I tripped a merry-go-round With this very unpleasing Sneezing and wheezing The calliope crashed to the ground Blinded by the light Revved up like a deuce Another runner in the night Blinded by the light She got down but she never got tight She's gonna make it through the night Some silicone sister With her manager mister Told me i've got what it takes She said i'll turn you on sonny to Something strong Play the song with the funky break And go-kart mozart Was checking out the weather chart To see if it was safe outside And little early pearly Came by in her curly wurly And asked me if i needed a ride Mama always told me not to look into The eyes of the sun But mama that's where the fun is Some brimstone baritone Anticyclone rolling stone Preacher from the east Says dethrone the dictaphone Hit it in it's funnybone That's where they expect it least And some new mown chaperone Was standing in the corner Watching the young girls dance And some fresh-sewn moonstone Was messin' with his frozen zone Reminding him of romance

The original lyrics on "Greetings From Asbury Park" are: "CUT LOOSE like a deuce", not "revved up". I hate Manfred Mann's crappy Earth Band, they ruined a bunch of really great songs with their crappy cover versions. Sorry, just had to vent about that.

OK, heres the deal. Both answers are right. I found both Manfred and Bruce versions on You Tube. Mann says "revved up" and Bruce says "cut loose" So, I'm still not 100% clear as to what it means, but at least I know they didn't use "douche" Thanks everyone for your answers. By the way, how do I transfer a video from You Tube to AB? I'm sure thats a stupid question but I am computer illiterate so I have to ask..... thanks
