  • I don't think the tablets they give for nerve pain produce a feeling of high, they use meds like gabapentin which come with a barage of side effects that worsen with increased dosage, of course dose has to be increased as like all pills used for pain, as the body gets use to it. Hence, the problem with opiate based medication is that the more your body adjusts, the more you need, nothing to do with pain actually increasing, hence counterproductive and not conducive to liver health. The best way forward is not to become dependent on pain medication, and to use different methods of pain relief, topical ointment, heat and cold, massage, strength building, physio, TENS machine, acupuncture etc.
