  • If they are in an area where introduction of natural predators - such as wolves - is not an option, then the only options are hunting and culling. Hunting needs to be limited (the number of licenses issued are limited) so as to prevent excessive population loss. In areas where hunting is not a possibility, expert culling is the alternative.

  • There is really nothing totally noninvasive. More deer hunting. Less hunting whatever competes with deer. Less hunting whatever eats deer. Habitat control. Control deer food or water sources. Spaying or neutering your deer. LOL. All of these, though, do some harm to some of the deer.

  • A cull is in order send the hunters out to shoot some of them? if your country is as silly as mine they will eat their entire food supply and starve to death due to over population before anything happens. Id like to shoot a heap of deer here they aren't native but goverment cockheads make it to hard.

  • Deer multiply rapidly. When the population gets too high in an area they become diseased and die a suffering death. The most economical method of reducing the deer population is by culling the population by selling hunting licenses bringing in millions of dollars for wildlife management. The meat from the animals is not wasted as it is eaten in thousands of households. The income from hunting equipment sales brings many millions of dollars into the community. Hunting is the most humane method of culling deer.

  • This is were hunters come in. We know the high density of deer results in a greater number of deer/vehicle collisions every year. Managing the deer population is essential for improving forest health and to keep the roads as safe as possible.

Thumbs up for a good question.
  • The only way I can think of doing this is providing food laced with deer birth control. The problem is other animals might get into it.

  • There seems to be a contagious fatal illness called "chronic wasting disease" that is spreading across the country killing deer now. The only natural way to control the numbers of a healthy herd is by hunting them. Whether it is humans or animal predators hunting them, they will keep the numbers down. 6/8/23
