  • If they're getting good things done, why talk about anything else? That's what everyone really wants. Every time I realize they're lying to maintain a good image, it just makes me wonder what they're doing to make the good press happen. What favors had to be traded? Who's palms had to be greased? What hidden costs will we potentially never be aware of? I'm proudly a bleeding heart, but good guys shouldn't have much to hide. Especially if they truly view themselves as public servants. They owe honesty to all they serve.
  • False. 1) Politicians typically lie every time they give a public speech. Not just at election time. 2) They're allowed to lie because there is no law against lying except under VERY specific circumstances (and politics isn't one of those very specific circumstances).
  • There's no oath they take, no ban on lying or being deceptive.
