  • https://www.ducksters.com/science/physics/theory_of_relativity.php Note that we MIGHT claim that the fundamental principle of the theory is this: that ALL motion is relative to the frame of reference of the observer. What that MEANS is this: if something APPEARS, from scientific observation, to be moving relative to your "position", your "frame of reference", then ***it actually and really and in reality is*** moving relative to your frame of reference. THUS, for a very obvious example that many people have a very hard time swallowing: the Sun not only APPEARS to be moving around the Earth. According to the theory of relativity, for anyone observing the Sun from the frame of reference of the Earth (i.e. for nearly all humans), the Sun ***in fact and in reality is*** moving around the Earth. Conclusion: ALL motion is (in fact and in reality) relative to the frame of reference of the observer.
  • Einstein explained it thusly: "When you put your hand on a hot stove for a few seconds, it seems like a minute. When you kiss a pretty girl for a minute, it seems like a few seconds." - THAT's relativity.
