  • Same reason everything else about the medical industry in the USA is so ruined. The answer: Starts with a dollar sign ($) and rhymes with creed.
  • FDA was probably paid off by the manufacturer of that version to chase off competition. Donnatal used to be cheap, like a dollar a pill. Then the FDA chased off the generic manufacturers, and the brand name maker inflated the price to $10 a pill. Coincidence?
