Am I entitled to my deposit and to walk away with no strings attached?
Recently I went to Mercedes to look for a finance PCP on a used A Class. He showed me a listing on a another reasonably close by Mercedes Dealership website, it fitted what I was looking for, but there were no photos, so he explained to me what it would be like.
I was part exchanging my car to use as a deposit to make it cheaper. So I uninsured it for the day they said I'd pick up the car.
The morning after it was delivered to my local dealership, they told me the cars alloys needed refurbishing and that the bumpers were a bit scuffed so would need to be re-sprayed. After signing ALL the paperwork BEFORE I was told about this and giving them a deposit, I was pretty annoyed. But, I decided to wait until they said it would be ready, 2 days later, and get the car.
Baring in that my current car that I use is uninsured, I have no mode of transport. And have had to have waited for the car that I was promised to now be repaired. Which was not disclosed to me when I bought and signed for the car.
So I've been left out of pocket for taxis just to get to work and to do my social activities while waiting.
On the day they then said it would be ready,
I got ready to go pick it up and called them, to find out it was still needing repairs and would be done next week, after the weekend on Monday, 4 days from now. Already 2 days after it had arrived and 2 days they said they were fixing it. Leaving me completely immobile.
So I have decided that I would like my deposit B...
