When I was a kid, I "ironed" my thumb, instead of the shirt, (still have the scar). And, several years ago, the ash from a "fine" cigar, dropped onto my forearm, and it was about 5 seconds before I realized it, (and boy, did I REALIZE it)! The scar is now about dime-sized.

Somewhere around 1000 degrees Celsius or more. I was in a chemistry lesson where we'd had to heat something over a tripod and bunsen burner at maximum heat for some time. I'd finished the experiment and taken down everything except the tripod and the burner was still going. I was distracted by something and my left hand touched the corner of the tripod. I saw a patch of my hand, one inch by a quarter of an inch actually on fire. It was under the running cold water in less than a second I think, and I kept it there for the rest of the lesson. It didn't hurt as much as I would have expected it to (I probably burned away the nerves). It took a month to heal. I had a raised scar there for years, but now it has gone.
