• Because it takes great effort to extract magnesium, it is expensive and so not available in a lot of applications. However, some its uses include: car parts, pop can tabs, some flint tools, press pouring products, nutritional supplements and nuclear reactor components. It is available in other applications when combined with other metals (like aluminum and steel).
