Quite difficult question and definitely not one with a straight answer. Ghosts are part of the traditions and folklore of all cultures and countries in the world. Most towns (old ones more frequently) own at least one haunted house or ghostly area. Many scientists who are trained in paranormal phenomena have tried to prove or at least explain in part the reason for the presence of what affected people call "poltergeist" (noisy spirits) and ghosts. Skeptics basically use the principle of Occam's razor, which states that the simplest adequate explanation for any event is the most likely explanation. For instance: -The typical haunted house is an old place with many years out of maintenance, this create creaking sounds, howling noises created by the wind thru open / broken windows, hollow spaces generate eco sounds, deformed shapes or ragged curtains create spectral shadows or shapes, rats can make scary noises. -A person or group of persons under a stressful situation (i.e. visiting a place where a murder has been commited) can become easily panicked (and panic can be very contagious). When you are in a creepy place, in the darkness and you are stressed your senses (mainly vision and hearing) can be very deceptive. -If you are in a forest on a Camp, and somebody tells stories about something creepy that happened in that forest, chances are if you stay awake (and if you are alone is worst) you will transform every tree branch on arms and legs, and the wind will be much more like a howl or haunting scream. Finally, again this question has no answer, BUT I can say that ghost or no ghosts being real, our imagination can be very tricky and can play games with us. If you don't believe this try staying alone at home one night and rent 2 or 3 good horror/suspense movies (i.e. The Sixth Sense, The Changeling and Stir of Echoes), and let me know if you don't start feeling that someone is looking behind you, or something moves in the shadows in the corner of your eye, or something like that. Most of the people I have challenge to do this, do not even finish the first movie and end up knocking my door to stay overnight. And this doesn't mean that they have ghosts at their homes :)

ghosts are real. it says in the bible too. exept it's mostly satan. ghosts are not humans. they are a spirit. like a holy spirit or a evil spirit like satan. or i have another theory. ghosts were actually traditions to have in cultures. after the spooky stories were told people started seeing ghosts with there imagination.then those kind of things lived on till today. and they pretty must be mostly fake. and it does say in the bible. ghosts could only give you fear they cannot hurt you for they are they. There is no right or wrong answer. I would say yes with out a doubt, but then the next person would say no. I believe in ghosts due to first hand experiences. I have heard of many close relatives seeing ghosts as well seeing them myself. I have not made contact with them just seen them. None of them were angry they just kind of floated on by. As for proof of ghosts there are countless pictures but one case somes to mind. The Brown Lady of Raynham Hall. (http://www.castleofspirits.com/brownlady.html) She was captured on film on pure accident. This is what makes the story more believable. Most ghost pictures are double exposes, time frame elapses, or computer alterations, of which can done by anyone with some computer or photography knowledge. There are countless other pictures out there for proof but ultimately it comes down to do you believe or not.

Are ghosts real? Ghost are very real. I was a child of about 6 or 7 years old at that time. My family moved into a house where the previous owner had died in the home. A few things begin to happen in the house which I did't think about until later. The front door would open, it being locked, hearing footsteps going to the second floor, closet door creaking open, lights going off and on. A real pain. but when this entity begin to physically molest me while I was in bed came to much too bear. I would see this entity standing at my bedroom door, waiting to pester me. I discovered that if I got in between two of my sleeping brothers or sleep next to mother or father, 'He' could get to me. I slept like that for the two years while in that house. I say, *#@%*& all those #@$damn sceptics, ghosts are real.

It depends what you mean by "real". Seeing as ghosts are believed variously to be spirits of the dead, psychic manifestations, psychic "recordings" of moments in history, the term "real" in the sense that you and I are "real" doesn't seem to really apply. My own belief - which most people would see as a "ghosts aren't real" stance- is that ghosts are generally manifestations of strong thoughts or feelings in the mind of the person seeing them- particularly where someone sees a loved one shortly after a bereavement, or occasionally a reaction to unusual environmental factors, I don't however see how this makes them any less real than any of the other explanations. However you see it, ghosts are part of the mental, emotional and spiritual world, rather than the physical one- so by definition, if you have seen a ghost, it is in a sense "real"- as it exists in your mind. How you choose to process and explain the experience is down to you.

Answers 101 is correct. Ecclesiastes 9;5 in the Bible says that dead people have nothing more to do ' under the sun'...on earth. There is nothing ' left over' that can cause any apparition or haunting. That does not mean that what you saw is imagination. It is very possible that demons can take on the aspect of people who have died, looking just like them. Lokk at what the Bible has to say about the subject. Ecclesiastes 9;5.6 .."5 For the living are conscious that they will die; but as for the dead, they are conscious of nothing at all, neither do they anymore have wages, because the remembrance of them has been forgotten. 6 Also, their love and their hate and their jealousy have already perished, and they have no portion anymore to time indefinite in anything that has to be done under the sun". On the other hand, demons are very real, although spiritual. They are the same ones that fancied earthly women, came down to them, had relations and produced the NETHILIM, Mighty men but very bad, the ones destroyed by Almighty God in the Flood [ Noah and his family were saved] The same demons abandoned their earthly bodies and returned to heaven. Satan and them have since been evicted rom heaven to the 'vicinity of the earth'. [ Rev. 12; 7-9 & 12] Demons CAN take over a person. Matthew 9; 17-29 and Luke 8; 26-39. This second scripture states where the demons actually prove, by saying, that Jesus IS God's son. Not God himself, but his son. Having been in heaven, they should know.

Ghosts are 100% totally real. i myself am a 13 year old school girl going to a normal school, but not many people realise i have amazing psychic abilities, and i can speak to ghosts. I speak to Sir Donald Bradman everytime i play cricket. he helps me out a lot. I'm really crap at cricket, but just yesterday, i bowled, and hit 3 wickets in a row! hooray to me! Ghosts are usually so cheeky. I don't actually see them. I see a glowing light no one else seems to notice. And i communicate to them by thoughts.

The lore has been there for years, stories of occurances passed on by siblings, uncles, grandparents & friends, along with the "proof" in the form of pictures, recordings & scientific data derived from high tech noisemakers that sense paranormal activity ala ghostbusters (just kidding, the people getting the data are much more educated & serious than them, but you get my point). I just can't completely buy into it until I view it with my own eyes. I'm not just rejecting the notion of the existance out of hand, I have an ability to be spooked, I want to see it, its just that no one has ever been able to provide me with irrefutable evidence. I have been to several haunted houses, and other areas where so called occurances have been witnessed and I haven't seen Jack!!! Until I do, I can't buy in, ...sorry I just can't. Show it to me & I'll give a different answer. Incedentally no one has proven that they don't exist either, but in the absence of being shown proof (an occurance witnessed by myself) I have to go with my own experience, my answer on this can change tomorrow, I'm open to this, I'm not saying I don't believe in it at all, as I said I can be spooked, but I can't say that ghosts exist with a clear concience based on the evidence that I've been shown!

I must agree with Dreasan that ghosts are actual tangible supernatural entities that should not be shrugged off for being something that isn't substantiated! You two have forgotten that Jesus Christ appeared before his disciples and that was in spirit form! And Jehovah had a hell of lot to do with that to!

Demons are angelic supernatural beings that fall to earth when God kicked Lucifer and his rebellious cohorts out of Heaven. The Devil, as he is better known as, inflicts countless misfortunes and calamities on mankind to getback at God. If you would read the Holy Bible carefully, you will find verses that speaks of the grief that God experienced when He set about to destroy the world by water. It grieved God so much that He promised never to inflict any harm on mankind, ever again. Demonic possession was so rampant in Sodom and Gomarrah that the only way to eradicated it was to destroy the two cities. That was God's way of exorcising the demons by fire. Demons are definitely alive and doing quite well here in the 'good ole U.S. of A.!

As a child the chandelier used to swing from side to side, and the radio would turn on by itself in the middle of the night. More recently, on a camping trip I was walking back from the bathrooms at that moment right between day and night and I saw someone walk across the front of the site and stop behind a tree. So I figure one of the people is going to jump out and try to surprise me, so I pull out my flashlight, walk up to the tree, turn on the light, and there's no one there. One time I was alone in a house, and I felt a presence. I looked at a mobile hanging motionless, and said, "If there is anyone else here, make the mobile spin." The next moment, the mobile began to spin. One time I was painting an iron handrail and had to grind all the rust off first, but I was having a heck of a time and the grinder kept jumping, like I was fighting with my hands to get them to do what I wanted. So I sat quietly and felt around. One grandfather was a painter, and I could feel him standing off to the side. My other grandfather was a welder, and since I was working with iron, he was trying to help. I pushed him away (with my mind) and said, "I appreciate that you want to help, but I know what I'm doing and I'm good at it, so back off. I could feel my painter grandfather laughing because he knew that I knew what I was doing. The rest of the job went great. Just after someone dies, it happens all the time that I'll be out and I'll swear that I saw them. It especially happenned with my painter grandfather. My mother and I saw him at his funneral, and other occassions. Many years later, when I feel around me, I can still feel his presence. Speeking of seeing spirits, one time I was driving into Ponca State Park to set up a large camping gathering, and the sides of the road were lined with spirits. All standing there, clearly visible to everyone, calmly welcoming us back. Another person saw them also. On another camping trip, we felt a spirit near the bon-fire. We had a ring of 40 tiki-torches around the bonfire. It was a still and windless night, but all the tiki flames near the spirit bent in. It was a Native American spirit and he spoke Lakota. None of us new Lakota, but after the camp-out we had it translated, and it was an actual Lakota sentence. "You shall grow through fire" Over the next several months our group went through a lot of trouble, but came out of it stronger. One of the people in the circle had a fancy camera. After the camp-out she went to get the film developed, and all the photos from before the visitor turned out, but after that all the film was blank. She took the camera in to be repaired. The repairman asked if she'd been in a nuclear power plant. All the innards were fried from electromagnetism My grandmother died while my niece was in utero. After my niece was born, she would look up at areas where no one was standing, and laugh and giggle. We all knew that she was looking at gramma, so we never showed her any pictures. Finally, at about a year old, she could speak, and my sister showed her the family photo album. My niece picked out her photo and said, "That's Old Gramma."

Ghosts are real. And they do not have flesh & bones like some movies portray. The forms & apperances they may reveal them selfs will never be specific or may never be scientifically proven. If you do not beleive me when i say Ghost are real , do believe the Lord as he states so in Luke 24:36-43 (read it for yourselves)

Well, lets put it this way. My house is a busy little place. My dog will not come into our bedroom at times. When he looks up toward the ceiling his ears go back, his tail tucks in an he goes under the bed. my wife sees an occasional black mist going through the hall to a bedroom. Recently a curtain rod that was leaning against the wall, going against gravity. It had been there two years. It suddenly flipped over to the center of the room. A little scarry, huh? Who knows? I believe personally, there are spirits, i.e. ghosts. Boo!

they are as real as the mind can imgine. that said, ghosts and spirits are the imaginary manifestations of real spirits,usually evil ones playing games with your mind and soul. they are not the long lost spirits of the dearly departed

Imaginary, until there is solid Scientific (evidential) and / or Logical reason to believe that they actually exist. It is such a well established fact that the human mind plays tricks on itself and makes you see things that are not actually there (consider things like optical illusions - you 'see' something that is obviously not actually there, despite having perfect eyesight and as much time as you want to stare at it and think about what you are seeing).

A lot of what passes for ghosts or paranormal can be easily explained away, either scientifically or psychologically. However, I do believe in spirits/demons, which is another thing altogether. These usually follow people and sometimes even family lines around, and can impersonate the dead.

There is absolutely, without a shadow of a doubt something after death. I have had readings with psychics and had tarot readings where I have been told accurate things that I didn't know and had to check with other family members - so they could not have been mind reading or anything like that. Ghostly white sheets and clanking chains - I don't think so but there is "something". When children are young they often talk to imaginary friends that when described resemble lost loved ones - my son used to talk to a man who very closed matched the description of my grandfather who had passed; at that time my son had never even seen a picture - coincidence?

That lenghtly anwer is true, but if you really want an answer, I would say yes. Only because I, as well as many people that live in our world, have felt the energy, or antics, or both, enough to igonore it. There is a feeling of heaviness, or energy you cannot explain. At least for me anyways. Feelings of actions undone in life, or explinations of death which no one would ever know. There are energy recordings, which give so much personal energy and stress, that it records in time, like a recorder and plays over and over again. Others, in which we all hear of, are unrested souls who either dont know how to cross over or refuse to do so because of a misunderstanding of how they died, or an unrest of how they passed. Regardless, I feel sorry for the people that dont belive, but they are normally the ones who expirence more intense situations, because these spirits want to prove their existance.

absolutely not. just because there are ocurrances that we may presently not understand or be able to explain does not mean that the answer is a supernatural one. just look back in history at all the fanciful things humans have believed only to be debunked eventually by science. just because science can't explain it now doesn't mean it never will.

Ghosts are real. How do I know? My friends and I do seasnces almost every weekend and once while I was at her house and they were making a fort and I went to get water. (This was about 1am) I look outside and theres a girl with long black hair about 3 feet tall staring at me from her yard. I freaked. I went to my friend and told her everything. She said that she had seen her alot at night. All the other girls went home the 5 of them. (we all lived in the same development) We told her mom. Next weekend we had a meeting with her. ( I was sooo scared that i almost pissed my pants.) It turned out that she was just a 3 year old who had been traving by car when her mom drove off the side of the road in to a river and was never found. We play with her all the time and have sleep overs with her too. If that freaks you out then... watever it freaks you out then.

A wondering spirt is when the dead person cant find the lite and they are stuck there. you will rearly have ghosts(demonds) that haunt your house but most likly it is a wondering spirt abd if you try to help it find the lite then it will be gonr. The way to tell if it is a ghost or wondering spirt is when you ask it to leave they wondering spirt will leave under the gods comanded, but if it is a ghost and you ask it to leave it wont because it is unger commaned of the devil!
