Hula hooping is a great way to work out your mid region. (This is coming from the Jersey Shore Hoola Hooping Champion two years in a row)Especially if they are weighted hoops. You can't target an area to lose weight at... you'll lose or gain all over your body. The exception to this is that men tend to get guts, while women get pear-shaped, and get saddlebags. It will tone the muscles in the exercised area, which will make that area look better once you lose enough weight there for the muscles to be visible.
