<h4 class="dechead">On One Hand: Many Tout Safflower Oil as a Moisturizer
Safflower oil is a natural moisturizer and nearly odorless, but it has become very popular because of its high concentration of vitamin E, which is great for the skin. Used by the ancient Egyptians to heal wounds, safflower oil is also high in linoleic acid, which replenishes moisture in the skin.
On the Other: Safflower Oil Expires
Unlike some man-made moisturizers, safflower oil does have an expiration date. If left on the shelf past its expiration, safflower oil risks losing its moisturizing properties--so be sure to keep on eye on the date.
Bottom Line
While no moisturizer is ideal for everyone, the benefits of safflower oil are many and it has been used for centuries. Its possible expiration being only a minor deterrent, there aren't many reasons not to give safflower oil a try if you're in the market for a natural moisturizer that's well-liked by many.
